Camera uploads
178 TopicsI'd like the option to delay automatic camera uploads.
Feature request: Delayed camera upload It would be very helpful to have an option to delay automatic camera uploads. Right now, photos are uploaded immediately, which means I often have to delete unwanted photos twice – first on my phone and then again in Dropbox. A delay (or temporary queue/“review before upload” option) would make it much easier to sort and remove unwanted photos before they are uploaded.45Views0likes1CommentDropbox silently enabled the setting to automatically upload my PC photos.
I've had the occasion to do a fresh install of dropbox on a couple of windows PCs recently, and both times I've discovered after the fact that the default windows autoplay setting was changed to enable silent uploading of files to Dropbox's photos folder. This setting had previously been set to simply open the volume in file explorer. This is appalling from a privacy standpoint. No, no pictures of my kids, or (to avert sniggers) compromising pictures of me, or my partner, or any other images I absolutely don't want online were uploaded. They certainly could have been though, if I didn't just happen to realise the setting was changed when I used a usb stick after installing dropbox. Whoever thought this default was a good idea needs to consider whether it really was worth the risk of compromising users' privacy. It should not be a default setting. It's outrageous it's a silent default setting. If it was an option stated in the dropbox install that I missed, it was nowhere near obvious enough - and still shouldn't be a default. Rant over.69Views0likes2CommentsSome photos uploading with lesser file size and quality
Device: OnePlus 13 Operating System/Browser (if using the web): macOS 26.3.1 (a) (25D771280a) Dropbox App Version (if using the app): 244.4.6580 Syncing Status: Up to date Question or Issue I have the exact same issue as described here: The quality of some of my photos is affected when using camera uploads. | The Dropbox Community I recently got a new phone, the OnePlus 13, and I noticed that some of the images, when uploaded to my Mac with Dropbox, looks extremely blurry. I've been trying to figure out what is going on, but I have not been successful. But today I e-mailed an image to myself that looks sharp on the phone, but horrible after being uploaded with Dropbox, and noticed that the file from Dropbox is 1,3 MB and the one from the e-mail is 3 MB. Uploaded from Dropbox: From my e-mail: I also discovered that if I use Google Photo the quality when downloaded to my Mac is the same as on the OnePlus 13 (and also from e-mail). So I'm wondering about the same thing that wertupo asked in their post: "Is it possible that Dropbox is 'rushing' to snap the photo up to upload before the phone has had the time to process it? Hence the bad quality?"55Views0likes3CommentsHow to reset my camera uploads on iOS? Dropbox will only re-add newer photos.
Hi! I need to force the iOS app to re-upload all the photos in my Camera Roll/iCloud Photos. I set it up so it uploads everything, not just new photos, but it will only upload new items. I believe it recognizes older pics as "already uploaded" and I don't know how to reset this. I have already re-installed the app, deleted all files in the Dropbox's Camera upload folder, restarted the device. Still, Dropbox will only upload new files. Thanks in advance!Solved152Views0likes6CommentsTell Us How You Use Dropbox

This is very strange, I an the organizer of a family plan, and when I select the photos section appears the family room pics by default. Then I activate the camera upload in my iPhone to see the Camera uploads folder, so after finishing with some folders, go to Photos in the Dropbox app and shows the Family Room pics and my personal photos. I don’t know how desactive the Family Room pictures showing mixed with personal photos. Additionally, the camera uploads not create the folders like as Smart Albums are in the iPhone. Hi - I just saw a post in which April from Dropbox said that Apple Camera Raw transfers on camera upload (I’ve noticed mine don’t) and then did simple test because I don’t use iCloud instead preferring to use dropbox. And voila. Jpg uploaded. Only. No dng. Why is Dropbox so confident that it uploads raw when it clearly doesn’t upload Apple raw despite the setting in camera uploads saying it will? I’ve been uploading now for years thinking it did when iCloud would have. Sigh. What a misclaim!351Views0likes2CommentsI'd like to reset camera uploads on my iOS mobile app.
