Hello, I’m having an issue with Dropbox. I’ve renamed several folders on my local machine to make them easier to manage, but the folder names in the Dropbox cloud still reflect the old names. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Dropbox desktop app, but the cloud folder names remain unchanged. Could you please help me force Dropbox to update the folder names in the cloud to match the renamed folders on my computer? Thank you!14Views0likes1CommentCan I see which files the hacker downloaded from my Dropbox account and from which IP address?

Hello Dropbox Team! I backup up an external hard drive with backups beta and my disk failed, and now I have to download all in badges to recover all my disk information, could you please add an option to restore a backup directly to the disk or maybe add the option of having the backup on the Mac finder to just access the files there and copy them to my new external hard drive ?40Views1like1CommentUpload versus back-up?
I know the difference between uploading a file and backing up one. But....when I upload a folder from my desktop into Dropbox it is still present on my desktop. The same is true when I backup a folder. This makes me wonder about the difference between the two.Solved36Views0likes3CommentsSaving image to Dropbox in iOS saves as URL
On iOS, when I save an image from Safari to the Dropbox app, before saving, the file name shows as a url file (and saves as a URL). I suspect today’s update causes this, because I was able to do this last night. I long press on an image > share > save to Dropbox At this step, the expanded menu recognizes the file type is an image, vs me mistaking it for an image, where it could be another file type. I’ve closed Safari, Dropbox and turned my phone off and on, issue persists.153Views0likes10CommentsFull video not downloading, only part of it.
Not really sure what is going on... I have tried downloading multiple different video files that are on a shared dropbox, but the full video does not download. It says on my computer that the video is the full length, etc. but it only downloads up to about 20minutes max (usually a max of 5-7GB). (I am using a chrome browser) Has anyone had this issue and know how to resolve?1KViews0likes5CommentsNot overwriting files anymore
I recently installed Dropbox on a new machine and now whenever I download a file from Dropbox onto my PC, instead of overwriting the existing file, it appends (1) to the file name instead and retains the older file. This hugely annoying and runs counter to what I need Dropbox to do. I can't see any option to turn this off. Any ideas? Thanks36Views0likes5CommentsDownloading files from Dropbox via Safari
Hi I am unable to download any files from Dropbox using Safari. Everything works ok using Google Chrome. I am using Sequoia 15.4 and safari 18.4.. I have the same problem on both my Mac Mini and Macbook Pro. Everything worked ok yesterday and today nothing? I am also now experiencing issues trying to log in and getting a warni g that the the two satge verification could not be sent. What is going on?Solved208Views0likes9CommentsHow to Workaround "Zip File is Too Large" Error
I'm sharing a multitude of large files with colleagues via a Dropbox link that are nearly 120GB in size. However, they're telling me Dropbox doesn't allow them to download it due to an error saying the "zip file is too large". Confused, I tried the link on an incognito browser to see for myself, and I see the error too. Why is there a download file size limitation? My colleagues don't have Dropbox accounts of their own to transfer these files to (and I doubt they'd be willing to to make paid accounts to do it), and I'm not giving my account login info to them (as a few threads on this issue suggested) to be able to download it via the Desktop app. I saw in a thread made a few years ago that Dropbox is easily capable of raising the file size download limit. They did it some months after someone complained about there being a 1 Gigabyte download size limit. Why don't they raise the download size limit much higher? (Or better yet, not have a limit at all?) I'm a paying customer, and the very reason I subscribed to Dropbox in the first place was to have a cloud service to store and share large files with people. If I wanted to deal with sharing smaller file sizes, I wouldn't even be paying for Dropbox's 2TB plan to begin with. I'd be using the Dropbox free version, or sites like Google Drive.Solved29KViews6likes9Comments
