Via DropBox website Question or Issue My Seagate comes with a 6 month free trial for Dropbox Backup plan, upon subscribing for this free trial.. I received an email saying: But I cannot find a way to remove this free trial, I no longer need to use it as I found out that I need to upgrade my Dropbox plan first in order to use it. I have no use of it since 2GB Basic Dropbox plan is not enough for me to backup my 2TB Seagate. I now want to cancel the subscription trial and delete my account. I am pretty good with technology, so I know how to cancel it but there is no option to do it in dropbox in my account. Nor am I able to delete my credit card details from the account. I've recently purchased a Seagate Hard Drive and it came with a Backup plan offer from Dropbox. I have activated it and I'm backing it up as we speak, although when I go on my subscriptions page, it doesn't show me any information about this offer, it just says I have Dropbox Basic and that I'll be charged 8 Dollars a month. I can't even cancel the subscription after 6 months free offer ends. Any advice on how I can resolve this painlessly? I don't want to cancel the offer, although I don't appreciate not having the option to.139Views2likes3CommentsI see no option to cancel the Backup trial I received via Seagate for my Dropbox account.
I signed up using Seagate's free 6 months trial option, but it just gives 2GB data and says they'll take $70 after trial ends. I don't want that, I want to cancel the subscription trial and delete my account. I am pretty good with technology, so I know how to cancel it but there is no option to do it in dropbox in my account. Nor am I able to delete my credit card details from the account. Kindlly help me with this. By any chance, if any money is taken out from my account, I am definitely gonna sue drop box for delibirately forcing customers to pay for something they don't want. I am interested in upgrading my plan to the 2TB plan because I need to backup an external hard drive (WD-My Book for Mac) with approximately 600GB of old iPhoto files on it. I cannot upgrade until I know that Dropbox Backup can access and backup this drive. When I go to the Dropbox Backup section of the app, it only gives my Mac hard drive as an option even though the external hard drive is connected and viewable/accessible in Finder. The FAQ section of Dropbox support says that it supports only certain types of external hard drives but I don't know what those drive types mean nor can I tell whether my external drive is one of those types. I contacted Dropbox sales support and they can answer my question and they can't get me any tech support (makes me question whether I want to stick with Dropbox anyway but that's another issue altogether). If I can't backup this drive through Dropbox Backup then I am not going to upgrade. My free plan is enough for what I need otherwise. Can anyone help me figure out whether Dropbox Backup can back up my external drive and help me see it on the Dropbox Backup screen in the app?3KViews1like8CommentsWhere is the Backup plan?
Does this exist only for a select audience now? I've searched on the website and cant find anything other than a page about it, but no links to actually subscribe to that option. I guess it's still in the works? I currently have dropbox plus and am using backup, but surprised to see that my backups are counting against my overall dropbox space (eating up over half of total 3tb of space, while my dropbox files are only 30gb or so)?779Views0likes1CommentHow can I upgrade without installing the app?
I recently cancelled my Dropbox plan that gave me 2T of storage. I used DB to back up my mac laptop as well as house some external folders. But I hated it. I desperately needed to get my laptop folder OFF Dropbox and disconnect from the platform as a back up. It took me 6 long weeks to disentangle my files I still wanted to use Dropbox to house certain folders and files though - just not those on my machine. So I went to the free plan. Now I have an alert from DB saying that I am out of storage with the free 2GB plan. I am happy to buy more storage space but I don't want to entangle my machine in the Dropbox Synching Universe again. I need to stay free from that. So how can I buy more storage yet stay free from linking my machine?Solved941Views0likes1CommentDropBox backup plan, but I want to select multiple drives.
I am interested in buying the backup 2Tb subscription for my desktop which has two hard drives in it. It says to just select the drive you want to back up. Do all the files have to be on one drive and not spread across multiple hard drives?Solved6.7KViews0likes9Comments
