Dropbox Plan Basic Device Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Windows 11 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 238.4.6075 Question or Issue I sent referral invitations to friends and colleagues, three of them registered and installed the app. I'm sure that at least two of them did it on computers where Dropbox had never been installed(the other is not sure) and with new email addresses, but I did not receive the 500 MB for any of the three, and the status of all of them is "ineligible". I read all the conditions for receiving the bonus and they have all been met, so I don't see why I wasn't given it.61Views0likes8CommentsDropbox tells me that I'm over-quota, but I only see 2.4GB of files.
Dropbox Plan Basic Device PC Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Windows 11 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 238.4.6075 Question or Issue As a basic user I see that I am entitled to 3 GB of storage space. Dropbox tells me that I use 3.03GB of 3GB. However, I can see that my dropbox folder has 2,4GB. I have checked the cache as well and it is empty. Is there a bug or something that I miss? Thanks in advance!Solved49Views0likes4CommentsDeleted all files, but Dropbox says I have no space.
I have a Basic Dropbox account. My account got full, so I emptied everything from it. But now, I cannot add new files or shared files to my account. Dropbox, instead, sends me prompts to upgrade the account. Backups is at 0. Where else could files be hiding?48Views0likes1CommentI'm receiving an error that I'm out of storage but I'm not.
Dropbox Plan Basic Device Windows laptops and PC Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Windows 11 I'm on Dropbox basic But because I've recommended a number of people to the service, I have a storage capacity of 8.5 gb. I am currently using 2.5 gb. But I am repeatedly getting error messages saying I've exceeded my allowance and my files are no longer syncing. As I'm on Basic, there doesn't seem to be any way for me to contact Support to resolve this issue. Any suggestions?48Views0likes2CommentsReferrals keep getting marked as ineligible
Over the last few days, I have invited four people to use dropbox via the referral link, hoping to benefit from the referral bonus. Two of these invites were genuine: to other people who have seen me use dropbox and appreciated it's functionality. However, in each case, they clicked on the link, signed up, downloaded the app (onto a computer that has never had it installed before, I have read these forums) - and both times on my referral page it came up as ineligible. So, I decided to test it out further, and used two of my burner emails. I have two old computers that again, have never had dropbox installed, so followed the same process and, again, ineligible. Why does it not work? Which part have I missed? I thought the limit was 16gb, but it seems I've been capped at 4.25gb.74Views0likes3CommentsI'm suddenly exceeding my storage quota. How can I check what takes up space?
I have recently completed a Widows 10 reset of my PC. Probably because of my own errors I had difficulty getting back into my Dropbox account which is the Basic (Free) version. I ended up having to cancel and renew my Dropbox account once or twice before I sorted matters out. I am now being messaged that I have exceeded my exceeding 2GB of storage space. Prior to the Windows reset I had used 1.45GB of space which was the figure shown in my Dropbox account and I have added little or nothing since. I have checked this figure by adding up the sizes of all my files. Is there somewhere where I can see how Dropbox arrive at their total of over 2GB? It is quite possible, I suppose, that some of my files have been duplicated in Dropbox; but unless I can view all the files that Dropbox add up to 2GB+ I cannot rectify errors I may have made when cancelling and renewing my account.Solved277Views0likes8CommentsHaving trouble deleting my content. The option isn't there.
Dropbox Plan Basic Device iMac Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Ventura 13.7.8 Question or Issue An email from DropBox invited me to save my computer's files to DropBox. When I attempted to do so, I ran out of space and I've since changed my mind. I would like to delete EVERYTHING in my DropBox account but when I follow the help directions, (hover over the files, click the three dots, etc.) I don't get an option to delete. I've tried in both "list" and "grid" format. See print screen. Please provide simple instructions for deleting everything. I do NOT want to upgrade.Solved180Views1like6Comments
