Just installed DropBox update v157.4.4808 on a MacbookPro 13,3 running MacOS 12.6. DropBox location was moved by installer to ~/library/CloudStorage and alias moved from "Favorites" to "Locations" in sidebar. DropBox support doc "https://help.dropbox.com/installs/macos-faqs" says new location due to change in MacOS. HOWEVER, installed same DropBox version on an iMac 18,3 running MacOS 12.6 and the location did not change! DropBox alias remains in "Favorites". Anyone else run across this discrepancy? I've read that I should keep the ".dropbox" file. It shows up on two of my mac computers with a sync error status of "The operation couldn't be completed. (NSFileProviderErrorDomain error -2005)". I'd like to understand what is going on here and what I can do to relieve my account of its errors. Any information is appreciated. Hi there! I've have a free dropbox personal account for 15 years, and at some point added a free Teams account. Several years ago I upgraded the Teams account to a Professional account. ----- Today I got this message, and all my Professional files were taken off my machines (they're still on dropbox of course) Business Dropbox Removed: Your business Dropbox account was removed from this computer because your accounts were unlinked. Your files have not been deleted. ------ I would love to be able to link my two accounts, and continue having two separate dropbox home folders on my machine. Basically, I am leaving the country tomorrow morning and will have extremely limited internet access. I just need it to work how it used to, but I accept that I may need an alternate setup based on whatever Dropbox has changed. When I am signed into my Personal (free) account, it says I have 3TB of space, and the same for the Professional account. Within the settings menu the Pro account is called Personal Account, but when I check the billing plan for the Pro account, it calls it Dropbox Professional. Any solutions? Many Thanks! Hi, I am trying to figure out a general outline of all the plans, and here are my finds. Personal Use plans : (payed as an individual) 1. Basic 2 Gb 1 user free 2. Plus 2 TB 1 user 3. Family 2 TB 6 users 4. Professional 3 TB 1 user 5. Essentials 3 TB 1 user Commercial Use plans: (payed as a company) 1. Essentials 3 TB 1 user 2. Business 9 TB 3 users+ 3. Business Plus 15 TB 3 users+ 4. Enterprise Custom Custom But I also found another group of Business plans: 1. Professional 3 TB 1 user 2. Standard 5 TB 3 users+ 3. Advanced 15 TB 3 users+ Questions: 1. I see Essentials as being both in the list of personal plans as well as in the group of company payed plans. Is it correct? 2. Is Professional plan a company payed plan or a personal payed plan? 3. Standard is the same thing as Business ? Advanced is the same as Business Plus? Or are they different? 4. The 3rd group of plans (Professional, Standard, Advanced) are all company payed plans? 5. Are there plans that can be both personal payed as well as company payed plans? 6. I also want to know if all business plans are company payed plans or there are exceptions (personal plans that can be company payed for, or business plans that can be personally payed for). 7. Hi Guys, So I will try and explain best I can. This is my website https://www.progressivedreamsmusic.com/ and this is a page on my website where I stream videos https://www.progressivedreamsmusic.com/a-progressive-journey-50/ The video that plays on the above page is hosted on my desktop in my dropbox pubic folder. I use a widget within wordpress (on my site) called FV Flowplayer Video Player that allows me to embed videos like this. What I do is copy the link of the video I want to stream and I paste it in FV Player, I change the end of the link from '?dl=0' to '?raw=1', I am not exactly sure why but without this the video won't play. Anyway, without that out of the way you can see what I am doing, but because over time this will take up lots of space on my desktop I want to know how I can stream a video from my online dropbox account like this? I want to store these very large video files in dropox cloud, maybe a public folder on my online account? I have recently set up a basic account to try Dropbox out. I have successfully managed to upload some videos and photos from my iphone to my dropbox account. I have hardly used any of the allowance I have. I am now trying to do the same and I keep getting the message 'empty files cannot be uploaded' They are Mov or jpeg files I have tried to uplaod to dropbox directly, saving the files on my desktop and also 'requested files' via an email link. Perhaps a very basic question. I have a Dropbox folder that I wish to work on with three separate computers (all mine). I want the contents of the folder to also reside on each of these devices, with changes synced to DB. I wish to not depend on always having access to DB so I must have the files on the devices also. I don't wish the entire devices to be synced, but want the chosen folder to be visible on each desktop. I've been a user and paid subscriber to Dropbox for about a decade. I use Drobox for sharing my files across multiple devices and occasionally for sharing files with other people who don't always have Dropbox accounts. I don't work as part of an organisation so I don't use any of the team or business related features. I often recommend people use Dropbox over other cloud storage as I've always been impressed with Dropbox. I've just started seeing the normal green background tick replaced with a white background tick on multiple files and folders. According to the help pages these white background ticks can only appear on folders yet I have them on multiple files. The help page says this green tick with a white background and green circle 'Contains files that are both available offline and online-only. A white circle with a green outline and a green checkmark can only appear on a folder. It means the folder contains a mix of files and folders that are ”available offline” and “online-only”.' Looking at the files it looks like some of these are files I've previously shared with other people but that doesn’t match the description here. My recolection is the shared folders had a different icon but that seems to have changed. What would be nice would be for a company to be consistent with their icons rather that occasionally going for a total redesign just because someone has said it's fashionable to have a new look. If you have to have a new look please, at least, keep the basic symbolism consistent with the past for the sake of your long term loyal customers. When you do release an update please also release an update of the help files as the statement that 'A white circle with a green outline and a green checkmark can only appear on a folder' is not true as I have it all over my files.11KViews2likes6Comments
