Unable to access my files on DropBox! Have had a DB account shared between a work laptop + my personal laptop (both Win 11 + fairly new) for quite some time. Recently retired-Work laptop went away. Can't seem to access much of anything on my personal laptop now. When I go to click on pictures or documents, I get the following: Hmmm… can't reach this page It looks like the webpage at file:///C:/Users/pgand/Downloads/Dropbox/Documents/MetLifeCritIllPol.pdf might be having issues, or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. ERR_FAILED I really hope I haven't lost everything I ever copied here. I attached a SNIP from File Explorer-they all LOOK PERFECT yet I can't ACCESS ANYTHING. Please help if you can thanks ! If so, kind of deceptive of DropBox as all the copies went well ! Please help if you can thanks !Solved379Views0likes22CommentsDropbox shared links are too long
Ever since Dropbox has moved to the sci/fi format for generating links, I've been running into a constant issue of the url links becoming so ridiculously long that websites with linkfilters will destroy the address, rendering them unusable. I used to be able to scrape by with finding ways to generate the old, far shorter links, but it's not possible anymore and it's looking more and more likely that I may need to change away from Dropbox due to this issue.153Views0likes4CommentsI get an error when trying to access a file on the website even after refreshing the page
That didn't work for some reason, If it's a fluke, it might work if you refresh the page. You can also ask us for help. The above phrase appears even if the page got refreshed what to do in order to access the file70Views0likes1CommentDamaged files on the Dropbox desktop app on MacOS Sequoia
Several pdf files stored in my DropBox account are listed as having 0kb files sizes when viewing them on desktop. I am unable to open them in a browser or Acrobat. Via dropbox.com, these same files are fine - downloadable and viewable, etc. There is no issue with file size constraints - all files are well within this account's storage capacity. I have removed and re-installed the desktop app with no change to the above. This is on OSX Sequoia. Any insight into why this is occuring would be helpful. It's a basic account, so Dropbox punts on technical support.Solved275Views0likes4CommentsDo shared links have a default expiration date on Dropbox Basic?
Hello, I am currently using the free version of Dropbox, and I would like to confirm if shared links to uploaded folders still do not have an expiration date by default. I understand that with the Dropbox Professional or Business plans, it is possible to set an expiration date for shared links. However, I would like to know if, on the free plan, my shared links will remain active indefinitely unless I manually delete or remove them. Thank you!Solved227Views0likes2Commentsdropbox video link not working
Good afternoon. made a website through the Tilda service, and used a link from Dropbox to play the video on the site, where there is an uploaded video. Previously, the link from Dropbox worked and the video was displayed on the site, but recently it disappeared. Tilda support said that this is a problem on the Dropbox side. Help solve the problem.Solved2.4KViews0likes9CommentsDownloading from a shared link from Patreon gives me an error screen
I am attempting to download a file over a link from patreon. I click the link and its supposed to go to a dropbox screen where i can download the file. I click the link and i get an error screen with your annoying dog. wich only serves to make it more frustrating. nobody else is having that problem with the link so it is clearly not the link at fault.Solved26KViews0likes10CommentsFolders showing up empty when I send a link to someone
This has only been happening to me within the past week, but it is really hurting my business. I am always sending a folder with either video files or photos. Generally people are opening the link on their phone with the intention of saving them to their phone. Basically what is happening is when I send someone the link to the folder, for them it either says that the folder is empty, or it shows the files but when they click on them it says the file type is not supported and so they can't view them or save them. This seems to happen whether they are using the Dropbox app or they open the link using Safari. The same thing also happens if they try to open the link to the folder on desktop. Also it should be noted that I upload the files via the Dropbox website, and I know they are all synced before I send the link because I check on the app on my phone before I copy the link. I have double checked and I know I am sending them the correct link and near the link when I copy it it literally says "anyone with this link will have access to these files" but I guess that is not the case for some reason. It also doesn't seem to matter if the person is signed in to their account or not. Any idea on why this is happening? Need to fix it ASAPSolved9.9KViews3likes38Comments
