Very simple dropbox user. upload blueprints, copy link, email to vendors. Now all my vendors can see eachother and thats not good. Also it is making my invitees request my permission to access the folders. All im doing is creating folder, copying that link and emailing it to my vendors. What changed and why can they see eachother now. im not paying for a stupid account so i can call customer service.27Views0likes3CommentsNew computer not making files local
I have a Dropbox that I've maintained for nearly 14 years over various devices, and on my latest computer I've found that the files aren't syncing to offline mode automatically. I changed the setting that allows new files to be saved offline and not just to the cloud, but I can't seem to figure out to how to make sure that it downloads everything (almost 2GB) back to my new system. I can wait for it for sync everything (though 90% is already on the computer, just in an older folder that the new installation of Dropbox refuses to use), but I can't figure out an easy option to do so.Solved1.8KViews0likes11CommentsIs there an automatic date change to current date when uploading?
Why this automatic change of date to current date when upload files to Dropbox -- no other cloud type storage system does this date change? I use both Safari & Windows (depending which laptop I use at time) to do these file uploads. Its a pain in butt that it changes date so I have to upload then go in and modify to date I want. -- I've read about some synching option but not relevant. I see others have raised this issue but no real ownership by DropBox to fix it seems? Has anyone found a way to turn off this auto date change function?Solved2.1KViews2likes11CommentsDropbox doesn't sync the changes between devices. What can I do?
We have the free version of dropbox at work. 3x computers make use of it. It's all excel files we have in the shared folders. At some point last year we discovered the files stopped syncing. Storage was full- deleted old files that were no longer necessary, then dropbox worked again. There is about 1GB of free space left. Again, dropbox has stopped syncing out of the blue. We have a solid internet connection. I noticed some troubleshootings mentioned it could be the antivirus- we have AVG free version, but we have had it since a long time ago and dropbox has always worked up until recently. On all 3x computers, the files show the green tick. But, let's say I make a change on X file, that change would not reflect on either of the other computers. Same if someone on the other computers made a change to X file, it wouldn't reflect on either other side either. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue? I am pulling out my hair trying to get it to sync. We don't have an IT department and I'm the only one in the office who generally has a good knowledge about computers, but this issue I fail to understand. Any assistance and advice will be gladly appreciated.38Views0likes1CommentStuck in queue when uploading from the web
I was creating folders and uploading files all morning and then, suddenly...all of the new images I went to upload are stuck in queue. I realized some of us DropBox users have had the same problem (as I found online) and so I immediately thought if I deleted some folders and files on my account as I only have 2GB of storage, that it would solve the problem. Now I thought I would have ample room to try and upload files, but I was wrong. So after that I - 1. Deleted caches 2. Browsing history 3. Went from private browser to public browser 4. Tried to only upload one file 5. Refreshed my WIFI connection on my computer 6. Plugged in my computer Still nothing. I tried to upload one file that I tried earlier, but it's is still in queue. I use a Mac to do all of this. Please help!931Views0likes7CommentsScreenshots are not being saved to Dropbox on my new computer
I have a new HP computer. Windows 11. I use to do Ctrl Prt SC and the screenshot went directly to my Dropbox screenshot folder. That does nothing on my new computer. The prt sc wording is on the upper portion of the right shift key. Nothing happens even with ctrl shift prt sc. I can right click on an image and select take screenshot, but that only adds it to the download arrow on the upper bar. What am I doing wrong or is there something I need to set up. I read all kinds of searches and they do not seem to help.Solved1.9KViews0likes4CommentsFiles aren't syncing on my Windows device, but no firewall or network issues.
Dropbox (DB) periodically stops syncing but there are no firewall nor network issues. I just find out that files have not been updated despite my working online for hours with no issues. This is not a firewall issue either. I can uninstall and reinstall the desktop app and things work again...for a while. Inevitably the sync fails eventually. On occasion I can stop the DB processes with Task Manager then restart the app and the sync SOMETIMES starts again. But just now I tried that and it didn't work. Likely I'll either have to re-start or more likely uninstall and reinstall the app. Anyone else have this problem, and if so, did you resolve it? I can't figure this out. It seems to be pretty random. I'm on Windows 11 Home.82Views0likes4CommentsHow to create a shared area for non-Dropbox users.
I am needing to provide a place for a couple of videographers to upload files to my Dropbox so I can include them in my edits. When I created a shared file and sent it to them, they respond that they are asked to create a Dropbox account of their own to access my link. I just need them to upload their video files to my account - they don't need to have their own Dropbox accounts. Is there a way around this requirement to create accounts for these non-Dropbox users to access a shared directory?25Views1like1Comment
