Dropbox Basic
70 TopicsI seem to be paying a subscription to Dropbox but I only have a Basic account.
I moved on to a basic drop box account more than a year ago which should be free. However I am being charged £19 99 per month for this account and for the life of me can't get through to a customer service representative to talk it through. Can the community forum help me at all as to how I can get in touch with Dropbox?. My bank account just says that I am paying to db.tt/cchelp and tells me which card I am paying from29Views0likes1Comment"Send Feedback" is broken
When I click "Send Feedback" in the Dropbox menubar icon, in order to file a bug report, the app makes my web browser open: Group: Dropbox for macOS | The Dropbox Community which redirects immediately to: Group: Dropbox for macOS | The Dropbox Community which then gives me this error: Dropbox v189.3.8308 macOS 13.6.2 (Ventura, ARM)Solved1.3KViews0likes7CommentsVerifying email not working. It won't let me share content.
I have verified my email address multiple times and Dropbox will not let me share or copy a link and it keeps saying that I can't until my email address is verified. What can I do? I can't even chat with support because it says I have to verify my email address.940Views2likes30Comments"Please log in to verify your email" when trying to access a folder.
I have been added to a DropBox and received an email from DropBox to allow me to access the folder. Now, I enter my username then password. The page loads then resets and say "Please Log In to Verify your Email". it is an endless cycle. Because I am accessing another party DropBox, this is a free account so DropBox does not offer me support.57Views0likes7CommentsTurn OFF selective sync, do FULL sync instead?
I see that, under selective sync in settings, I can check all folders - but, if I add a folder, will it start syncing? If not, is there a way to turn OFF selective sync and instead opt for FULL synching? (I just noticed that I thought I had no files in a folder but I actually DID, because I was not synching all the subfolders, so I think I need to synch everything while I'm cleaning up files.)Solved1.1KViews0likes10CommentsIs there a way to set the Dropbox folder via the command line?
Hi Dropbox HUGELY EXASPERATING -- NO WAY TO MOVE / SET THE DROPBOX ON-PC FILE LOCN ON COMMAND LINE INSTALLS #Dropbox - presuming you are here, WHY am I having to ask the Community to help with such an OBVIOUS NEED ?????????? #### YOU SHOULD FIX THIS, DROPBOX -- IT'S BEEN OVERLOOKED FOR YEARS. SORT IT OUT PLEASE - TODAY WOULD BE GOOD. This will take a decent programmer in your offices *20mins tops to document*. PROBLEM: THE HEADLESS DROPBOX - IDEAL FOR MANY LINUXES ****HAS NO WAY TO RELOCATE THE STORAGE FOLDER***** On Win / Mac / Ubuntu there's a GUI - but for the hundreds of other Linux situations, and most servers, WE USE COMMAND LINE -- but you FORCE US to put the synch folder in the most obviously idiotic place - under home. And moving it is then IMPOSSIBLE it seems. "Jane" replied with this helpful news three years ago on this thread: [ https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Apps-and-Installations/Unable-to-access-preference-menu-on-linux/td-p/232112/page/3 ] . ## SO DROPBOX -- what are the millions of us out here supposed to do ????? Can you FIX this IDIOTIC OMISSION please. I only ask because I have work associates who want Dropbox. (Cloud on Linux is massively simpler with Google Drive. Just works). Looking forward in anticipation to your detailed help. No sarcasm intended. (Apologies to all the good people in Community but there seems no way to actually reach a Dropbox person). Thanks MikeHLondon [ PS that detail advice from 2013 - it doesn't work. MHL ]4KViews2likes7CommentsCan't link work account, pop-up msg says already linked but it's not
On my desktop app, I used to have both my personal Dropbox account and my work account. The work account is no longer active (it's been over 1.5 years). And now I'm trying to link a new work account but I get this pop-up msg in red "That account can’t be paired. You can only pair one work account with one personal account." When I went to unlink the old work account by following the steps here (https://help.dropbox.com/account-access/link-unlink-two-accounts), no accounts were listed. So I clicked on "Link accounts" and again it took me back to the pop-up message in red quoted above. Anyone know how to get to the bottom of this??607Views0likes5CommentsNot receiving verification emails.
I'm requesting a verification email be sent to validate my email account, but nothing arrives. I've added no-reply@dropbox.com to my safe senders list. Nothing is arriving in my junk folder. I'm not sure where to go to get this simple issue fixed - help please! Thank you.Solved523Views0likes4Comments
