Dropbox Basic
24 TopicsI've looked everywhere online for my selective sync settings, but I can't find them.
I have looked everywhere on my Dropbox.com account and cannot find sync anywhere. I have found preferences and there is nothing about sync there. I have a colleagues whose screen shows sync under this menu. I have been on Dropbox since 2008. I upgraded the desktop app but don't know if or how I can update the desktop application. Any suggestions? Could she possibly have a paid version if she has selective sync -- but even with the free version I should have sync shouldn't I so I can remove files I don't want to sync Her message: Across the menu bar at the top you should see a drop box icon. Click on it. [Note: this only opens my dropbox - I need to click my personal icon and then I get setting and preferences] Then you’ll see an option called settings or preferences. Click on it and you’ll see an option that says sync. [Note: I don't see sync option anywhere here] Click on that and look for an option that says ‘selective sync’ Here you can click only the folders you want.8.1KViews0likes7Comments"Please log in to verify your email" when trying to access a folder.
I have been added to a DropBox and received an email from DropBox to allow me to access the folder. Now, I enter my username then password. The page loads then resets and say "Please Log In to Verify your Email". it is an endless cycle. Because I am accessing another party DropBox, this is a free account so DropBox does not offer me support.224Views0likes7CommentsTurn OFF selective sync, do FULL sync instead?
I see that, under selective sync in settings, I can check all folders - but, if I add a folder, will it start syncing? If not, is there a way to turn OFF selective sync and instead opt for FULL synching? (I just noticed that I thought I had no files in a folder but I actually DID, because I was not synching all the subfolders, so I think I need to synch everything while I'm cleaning up files.)Solved1.3KViews0likes10CommentsCan't link work account, pop-up msg says already linked but it's not
On my desktop app, I used to have both my personal Dropbox account and my work account. The work account is no longer active (it's been over 1.5 years). And now I'm trying to link a new work account but I get this pop-up msg in red "That account can’t be paired. You can only pair one work account with one personal account." When I went to unlink the old work account by following the steps here (https://help.dropbox.com/account-access/link-unlink-two-accounts), no accounts were listed. So I clicked on "Link accounts" and again it took me back to the pop-up message in red quoted above. Anyone know how to get to the bottom of this??704Views0likes5CommentsNot receiving verification emails.
I'm requesting a verification email be sent to validate my email account, but nothing arrives. I've added no-reply@dropbox.com to my safe senders list. Nothing is arriving in my junk folder. I'm not sure where to go to get this simple issue fixed - help please! Thank you.Solved719Views0likes4CommentsHotmail not receiving verification email from Dropbox
My dropbox login was reseted after i switched phone. While attempting to login, a verification code was sent to my email. I have tried adding no-reply@dropbox.com, multiple attempt over few days. Refresh spam multiple times, not a single verification email receive for my hotmail acct. I even got an ad mail from Dropbox no-reply@em-s.dropbox.com with invitation to download desktop app. Apparently drobox basic doesn't even have the service to email their customer support for help. So please anyone can help me out?Solved1.8KViews0likes5CommentsSwitching email addresses between two accounts - any potential consequences?
Hi folks! I'm looking to change my email address from email A to email B. email A has a lot of extra GBs that I received years ago I enrolled email B in Dropbox years ago, but I've never used it as email B had much more storage space Can I change A to B if B is already enrolled in Dropbox? If not, what can I do to be able to perform this change? If I change A to B, will I be able to keep all the extra GBs that I accumulated over the years? Thanks!Solved1.6KViews0likes6CommentsDropbox keeps spamming me about my storage space running out
Dropbox keeps sending me emails and notifications about my storage space reaching its capacity, as if I've got 100 megabytes of it left or something. It says that if I won't buy another plan then I'm risking losing my files, and a dozen of variations of the same message. I've been using Dropbox since 2010 and I've got a basic free plan of 2 gigs, but I've increased my storage space by inviting friends and doing "challenges", so now I have around 16 gigs of space and 13.5 of them are used. That is not "critically low on space" by any means, but I keep receiving so many spam notifications that it's starting to look threatening. Either Dropbox has a bug in calculation how much space I have occupied by comparing it to the basic plan instead of actual space, or it's doing it on purpose to force me to pay. Also I cannot contact live support since I have a free plan. I'm thankful to Dropbox for the service it provides but I'm pretty sure this is not how a service should treat its long-term customers. If this is a bug then I sincerely hope that it will be fixed as soon as possible.1.9KViews2likes4Comments
