Dropbox Family
47 TopicsDifference between shared folder and family room
My team used to each have an account subscribed to the plus plan and we shared a folder to access the files as a team. We recently decided to start a family plan and are wondering what exactly is the difference between a shared folder and a family room when subscribed to a family plan.2.6KViews2likes4CommentsWe can no longer add an expiration date or password for our shared links on Family.
Hello, We used to be able to set a password or expiry time for shared files and folders in Dropbox Family. Now this this has been disabled with a prompt to upgrade to "Dropbox Professional". Have certain features been removed from the Dropbox Family plan ? Given that I'm on a "Grandfathered" plan (not sure that's the right word), I have not been notified that any features had been removed. I paid annually and assumed features would remain the same. Dropbox doesn't publicly list the Dropbox Family plan anymore, even though it's listed publicly. Thanks in advance.244Views1like6CommentsCan't understand the meaning of the Dropbox icon in the finder and it doesn't sync.
My system info HW: Apple M1 Pro OS: Ventura 13.5 (22G74) Dropbox ver: v180.3.4837 & joined beta Dropbox beta has an incomprehensible behavior when using the file provider feature on macOS. As shown in the finder screenshot below, I have set "Make available offline" except for a few folders. However, the cloud with arrow icon(next to the dropbox icon) is "not downloaded" and the dropbox status in the menubar is "your files are up to date". Doesn't "make available offline" mean that all files are accessible offline on my macbook? But what does "not downloaded" mean? No matter how long I waited, the "your files are up to date" status didn't change, so I finally clicked on the cloud icon in the finder to actually download the files. After that, the dropbox status didn't change even after hours of waiting in "syncing..." as shown in the screenshot below.Solved14KViews1like33CommentsCan I upload innocent naked pictures of me as a baby-child?
I was going to send my family negatives to Hong Kong to get them scanned. They services are really cheap. They usually send scanned pictures back by uploading them to dropbox. Suddenly it came in my mind that there are also naked pictures of me as a baby and one or two as small child in that negatives. I don't want to ask the Honk Kong scanners about this because I am afraid that questions would unnecessary freak them out. The thing that came into my mind is that it's their daily business so they would probably know the best possible solution. But still I don't anyone to be in any trouble so that's why I am asking here. One more thing is that those pictures are just family innocent pictures and nothing vulgar at all but I don't know if dropbox scans every picture with their algorithm and if that's the case I don't want it unnecessary give false flags. I also don't have any intention of sharing the photos link publically at all. Thanks.Solved4.4KViews1like1Comment
