Hi, I have deleted my shared family room folder off my desktop folders. It is still there when i log on to dropbox.com and my other family members can still see it. I am the one who set it up so i will hold admin settings. I have deleted the desktop app and re-installed but still only shows my personal files and not the family room file. How can i get this back? tia12Views0likes1CommentWe can no longer add an expiration date or password for our shared links on Family.
Hello, We used to be able to set a password or expiry time for shared files and folders in Dropbox Family. Now this this has been disabled with a prompt to upgrade to "Dropbox Professional". Have certain features been removed from the Dropbox Family plan ? Given that I'm on a "Grandfathered" plan (not sure that's the right word), I have not been notified that any features had been removed. I paid annually and assumed features would remain the same. Dropbox doesn't publicly list the Dropbox Family plan anymore, even though it's listed publicly. Thanks in advance.61Views0likes5CommentsCan I locally share my Dropbox folder on my Windows machine?
My wife and I have files we want to share that are in Dropbox and are synced to our computer in my local Dropbox folder. She has her own local account on the same machine and I want to know if I can locally share a folder from my synced Dropbox folder with her. Is it possible, and if so, are changes she makes going to be synced to Dropbox.com? I have looked at using Dropbox Family and the Family Room folder to do this, but if we both sync that folder it doubles the storage space used. Any thoughts or suggestions?Solved82Views0likes4CommentsFamily Room - cannot customize sharing settings
Hi, I have a family plan and I'm the admin. That plan makes available to every member a shared folder "Archivio Famiglia" that stands for "Family Room" I guess. My need is to setup customized credentials to my family members, for instance, I want to give view or edit access to specific folder only. Looking at the documentation Dropbox states that it's possible to set credentials in every sub-folder.. but I don't see (from web UI) any option in menu.65Views0likes5CommentsCan I password protect folders while on a Family plan?
I have created a link for viewing and other than "who has access" all other toggles are greyed out. I have the Family plan https://www.dropbox.com/family and unfortunately, I cannot find anything that specifically tells me whether this option is allowed or not. I thought there was an option for securing files. When I go here: https://help.dropbox.com/share/set-link-permissions I can see plans like "Standard" have this option, but then when I go to compare plans https://www.dropbox.com/plans neither the "standard" nor "family plan" is listed for me to even see what options are included in these plans. Can someone please tell me how I find out exactly what is included in what plan?Solved200Views0likes2CommentsI shared files with edit rights, but the recipients can't edit them.
Hello! I have shared files with 2 members and gave them editing access. They can open dropbox on their end and see the file but cannot edit. One user was able to open a file in another window and make edits but they did not appear in the shared file. We have a family plan if that matters. I’ve having issues with the Dropbox links to documents as they are too long. I’ve copied the link which is view only but the website I’m adding the link too (pimcore as an admin) won’t accept it as it’s way too at over 100 characters! Please can anyone suggest how the link can be shortened? Thank you1.9KViews0likes5CommentsCan't understand the meaning of the Dropbox icon in the finder and it doesn't sync.
My system info HW: Apple M1 Pro OS: Ventura 13.5 (22G74) Dropbox ver: v180.3.4837 & joined beta Dropbox beta has an incomprehensible behavior when using the file provider feature on macOS. As shown in the finder screenshot below, I have set "Make available offline" except for a few folders. However, the cloud with arrow icon(next to the dropbox icon) is "not downloaded" and the dropbox status in the menubar is "your files are up to date". Doesn't "make available offline" mean that all files are accessible offline on my macbook? But what does "not downloaded" mean? No matter how long I waited, the "your files are up to date" status didn't change, so I finally clicked on the cloud icon in the finder to actually download the files. After that, the dropbox status didn't change even after hours of waiting in "syncing..." as shown in the screenshot below.Solved13KViews1like33CommentsCan Camera Uploads photos get uploaded to a shared folder?
As a couple, we want one location for photos with the ability to edit/delete photos. We have a family account, is there a way that the auto uploads from our devices can be automatically put into a shared folder that we can then both manage?240Views0likes3Comments
