Dropbox Plus
22 TopicsIf I upgrade and later on downgrade, do I keep my referral space?
I was thinking of upgrading to Dropbox Plus. 2TB seems like a good amount of space! However, if the price goes up a lot, would I then be able to downgrade back to basic and keep my referral space? I have 8GB built up over the years and I assume I'd lose that.98Views0likes3CommentsDropbox Basic doesn't show my referral space after downgrading from Plus.
I cancelled my subscription from the 2TB Dropbox Plus plan to the free DropBox Basic 9.5GB tier. Over the years, I had earned an extra 7.5GB space through referrals. What/who do I contact to get that space included and counted in the Basic Plan as it states in my Account settings. Thank you. I have recently had a couple of Emails from Dropbox telling me that the free trial of Dropbox Analytics was about to end and the last one to say that it had ended. I wasn’t even aware that I was on a free trial for this product. It also states that I cannot now add new files to my Dropbox although I can access existing files. I pay annually for Dropbox Plus so why are Dropbox saying that I now can’t add new files?281Views0likes3CommentsStorage disappeared after free trial
My account is using just over 5 GB and has been that way more or less for at least the past 5 years without any trouble. I'm not sure what my total capacity was but I had lots of space available. Since I allowed the free trial of Dropbox Plus, and I didn't pay to continue it, my total storage has dropped down to 2 GB so I am 3 GB over. I did not change anything from my end but Dropbox has reduced my storage for no reason that I can see.312Views0likes3CommentsMacOS Dropbox folder location change and free disk space discrepancy
Apparently Apple started requiring File Providers like Dropbox to move their folders to ~user/library/cloudstorage, leaving only a folder alias at the original location. This caused problems in the beginning with file searches but these finally got sorted out. What is strange is that I recently replaced my laptop and after reinstalling Dropbox, the new default folder location is where it originally was, not in library/cloudstorage, and it's no longer an alias. I'd like to change this on my [older] home computer but I'm not sure if this is wise or even supported. I should mention that I'm running the newest Dropbox beta release, and the Dropbox helpdesk is encouraging me to reinstall Dropbox using the latest 'stable' build and not the beta. Does anyone have any experience with this? Second issue is a question of free disk space. I use PathFinder instead of the Mac Finder but these two utilities give different values for the remaining free space on disk. When determining the amount of free space, the Mac Finder seems to ignore the Dropbox folder entirely wherever it might be whereas PathFinder does include it. In other words, the Mac Finder [erroneously] lists an additional amount of free space equivalent to the size of the Dropbox folder. The Mac Disk Utility agrees with PathFinder's assessment of the amount of free space. Does anyone understand why this happens?2.6KViews0likes7CommentsMaking space on my computer with online-only files
My computer has ran out of space. The space is taken up by DropBox. I used the hard drive manager to set some files to online only, I think I even set some folders that way. There are check marks and it said it did that, but it didn't give me the space that it said it would create. I am unsure if this is because DropBox has not had room to Sync? Or some other reason. I don't need all my files to be accessed on my Computer, and I can't figure out how to make things work again : Any ideas?460Views0likes1CommentUpgraded plan to Plus, but storage still only says 2GB
I just bought and upgraded my basic plan to the Plus plan, but my storage says I still only have 2GB. I also still do not have access to the help features even though I upgraded, so I cannot access those either to get help in what to do. How do I get my storage to upgrade to 2TB instead of 2GB?584Views0likes1CommentI have very little stored at my DB Plus 2TB account, but it says I'm out of room. Why?
I have 880 GB of files at my Dropbox Plus account where I'm paying for 2TB of space but when I just tried sending a 300MB vid file it failed because DB says my account is full. A bar graph shows my 880GB and 1.1TB of backup, but I can't find any files anywhere that say or appear to be any sort of backup. Backup that I never at least intentionally activated. But, DB is so unnecessarily complicated, I've been using it for about 5 years and I still dread coming here because everything is so difficult to figure out and photos and videos are not easy to search to find anything now. When I open a folder the images are all like stacked on top of each other instead of at least being in contact sheet format. This is why I'm not renewing this year and moving to Google Photos where you open an album and the vids and pix are visible as the full frame image in a size you can see detail clearly as you scroll down through the files. Ok, I had to vent that while here, but where is this "backup" they say has hogged over half my space and how do I kill it? One more question no one should have to ask, but, below as I finish this I see "Labels". Would I be crazy to asume by Labels they mean "Tags"? Geezus. Thanks.1.2KViews0likes1Comment
