Hello Dropbox Community! My name is Lainie and I'm a Product Manager at Dropbox. Every now and again, I am going to post a "Did you know..." to 1) keep you informed of all of the cool technology that exists at Dropbox and 2) gather your feedback on how the features are performing. In today's, "Did you know..." I'll be talking about Image Search! Image search is allows you to use the Search Bar to search for the contents of the image using words to describe the image. For example, if you search for "cat" your search results will show files that 1) contain the word "cat" in the file name or body, AND 2) files that contain images of cat. No mention of the word "cat" is necessary! Pretty cool! If you haven't yet, I recommend that you check it out. Please respond to this thread and let me know... A) Did you know this feature existed? Do you use it? B) How can we make this even more useful for you? Have a great day! Hi Dropbox community! I'm a product manager at Dropbox working on the search experience on dropbox.com. Paid users already have access to advanced search features like full-text search, OCR (searching for text within images), full-text search, and image search (searching for objects within images). However, this can often return a lot of results leading to a poor experience having to wade through and find exactly what you're looking for. So, we're happy to announce that we're adding a few new operators to help you retrieve your files/folders more quickly: title:(new lead) => See results with only the specific words in title of the file title:"new lead" => See results with exact phrase match in title of the file. Note that quotes only work with title searches and can't be used to match on content type:image => Filter results by a certain types like image, video, document, spreadsheet, etc. type:jpg => Filter results by a certain types like file extension like jpg, png, docx, etc. before:2022-01-01 => Allows you to see all content before a certain date. Uses YYYY-MM-DD format. after:2022-01-01 => Allows you to see all content after a certain date. Uses YYYY-MM-DD format. lead AND new => AND operators will show results that contain both words. lead OR new => OR operators will show results that contain either words. To use these operators, login to Dropbox.com, click on the searchbox at the top, and start typing your query. You can learn more about our operators on our help center article here: https://help.dropbox.com/view-edit/search Note that there are some limitations: - This feature is Web only (for now) - Searches may return inaccurate results for contents of a file, certain images, and Paper docs if you're using the old release of Dropbox Paper. - Quotes will only work on file titles, not matches on content (for now) Try it out and let us know what you think! Thanks for your patience as we ship new features to improve your overall Dropbox experience! Rhut4.4KViews7likes2CommentsTell us what you think of the mobile search improvements

In working with a new iPad, I discovered that the Files app was not correctly connecting with Dropbox. No Dropbox folders showed up either in the Files app or in any other app with an open feature that would normally have been able to access Dropbox files. Oddly, when I clicked “Dropbox” in the list, there were no folders but I could add a folder and that new folder showed up in Dropbox on other devices (and in the Dropbox app on the iPad)! So there was some connection but not much… This is not an issue I’m experiencing on any of my other Apple devices (Mac or iOS). In talking with Apple support they had me delete the Files app, reboot the iPad, then reinstall “Files.” I did that, but to no effect. They escalated me to a higher level of support but while I was waiting, I also deleted Dropbox and reinstalled it. That solved the problem! So, if you can’t access your Dropbox folders and files in Files or in any of your other iPad apps, just delete and reinstall Dropbox—problem solved (at least for me, this time!)6.3KViews4likes6CommentsTell Us How You Use Dropbox

I just got off a chat with one of Dropbox's representatives. In short, I have a Dropbox professional plan and I created a separate folder for each of my students. Yesterday, one of my students got a message that her account is "full" despite me having two and a half terabytes of free space left. Well, guess what, space is calculated double - once on my account and once on hers. So, let me get this straight, if I share a big folder with a lot of files with, say, 20 people, Dropbox will require all 20 of them to pay for the same amount of space!? Anybody from Dropbox cares to justify this!?Solved3.1KViews3likes10CommentsScanned Document as PDF just does not upload on Android App (Samsung smartphone)
Dropbox Pro user here. I am camera-scanning a document with my phone and trying to upload it as a PDF to my Dropbox folder. The upload progresses really quickly all the way until 100% (no network issues here, using Wi-Fi), but it gets stuck "Sending..." at 100% and just never finishes the upload. I confirm that I can upload regular files (including PDFs) from my phone to Dropbox, and I can scan into JPG files and upload them. It's only the PDF scanning option that isn't working, as far as I can tell. I suspect that the cause is the OCR post-processing... Things I've tried (none of them worked): - Killing the app - Clearing the app cache - Using Data connection instead of Wi-Fi - Restarting the phone - Updating the App: it is already at its latest version Phone Model: Samsung A54 Android App Version: 352.2.2 Has anyone else had the same issue or is this specific to me? Would really appreciate some help to solve this.Solved14KViews1like8CommentsFile request link results in blank screen
Anyone else experiencing this problem? ALL of our file request links result in a blank screen when clicked. It is not a browser issue, as it's been tested across many browsers. I wasn't aware of it until a client advised me of the problem. Dropbox are looking into it, meanwhile this has been ongoing since Tuesday and still no fix. The copied link shows as [removed], then when entered, changes and inserts _edison https://www.dropbox.com/request_edison/xyz Thanks in advanceSolved5.5KViews1like18Comments
