Dropbox Vault

Hello, Dropbox Vault sounds like a very nice new feature, and I was wondering how to access it while I'm not connected to the internet (i.e. offline). On my Mac, when I click on the Vault icon it always opens up the dropbox website, and doesn't seem to be letting me access it locally. Any way to access dropbox vault offline/locally?8.1KViews5likes13CommentsVault does not open!!
I tried setting up Vault a few days ago and chose a PIN. I moved some of my most sensitive files into it and saw that they were there. Now, a few days later, I cannot access the Vault at all! When I click on it in either the Windows 10 File Explorer or the Dropbox App the cursor spins for a moment but the Vault does not open. File Explorer now reports the size of the Vault is ZERO bytes. Please help! Did Dropbox just lose all my most important files??? ThanksSolved10KViews5likes5CommentsEdit files in vault on Windows
I've looked into new Dropbox plus features this morning, tried out the new Vault feature. I've realized that, when you are on Windows, there is no way to edit the files you have in the Vault. You can do this on Android with the Dropbox app, because the app has a text editor, but on Windows the way to edit files is to opened the sync file on your machine. However, the Vault folder does not get synced. Text files can't be edited in the browser in Dropbox, so the only options for editing the files in the Vault right now seems to be to move them out of the Vault, edit them, move them back in the Vault. Maybe someone has looked into this more. Is there a way to edit those files without moving them? Is there any plan to implement something to permit this (the Vault is a new feature)? Or will there be an option in the future to sync the Vault folder to Windows (while keeping it secure)?7.1KViews5likes7CommentsHow can I keep my files secure without Dropbox Vault? Any alternatives?
Hi to all the community! I have just received an e-mail from Dropbox telling that the "Vault" folder/service is going to be discontinued from March the xxth (can't remember the exact date). Hate this, because my tranquility depends on it. My proceeding: -Upload a folder every week with my works. Open Vault, move the uploaded folder to it, close DB. So the folders with my works are (were) protected from any kind of attack (like encrypting my local PCs). My thoughts were that if my PCs suffer an encrypting attack, dropbox files would be updated with the encrypted version so they would be useless. Am I right? After the Vault disabling I have thought an alternative: To make read only (and "unable to delete") the folders I want to prevent any kind of attack. Is there any way to achieve this? TIA!Solved3KViews2likes14CommentsHELP! Vault won't give me access!!!
Hello, I just set up Vault yesterday. I put in my most sensitive documents. I accessed them today and then "poof" I'm not allowed to access them. I can put in my correct password and it lets me in to the next stage but doesn't show my folders in Vault and says "you don't have permission to edit this folder. Contact a folder admin to get access" I noticed this first when trying to upload something to Vault on my phone, the phone couldn't access it anymore, then on my desktop. I can lock Vault and then unlock it fine. It appears there is no longer phone support from Dropbox and the nobody was available on chat so they asked me to send an email, which I did. I need this fixed asap and need some support from Dropbox. Very frustrating. I'm worried all my most important files are gone!!!12KViews1like31CommentsDropbox Vault not visible
Now that Dropbox has added Vault to Professional, the only way I can access the Vault is the web interface, the Dropbox app on my iPad, or the Dropbox app on my Android phone. The vault does not show in the Dropbox for MacOS app or in my Dropbox folder in Finder. I even stared it in the web interface and when I look at stared folders in the Dropbox app it doesn't show.8.6KViews1like9Comments
