Dropbox Vault
23 TopicsHow can I keep my files secure without Dropbox Vault? Any alternatives?
Hi to all the community! I have just received an e-mail from Dropbox telling that the "Vault" folder/service is going to be discontinued from March the xxth (can't remember the exact date). Hate this, because my tranquility depends on it. My proceeding: -Upload a folder every week with my works. Open Vault, move the uploaded folder to it, close DB. So the folders with my works are (were) protected from any kind of attack (like encrypting my local PCs). My thoughts were that if my PCs suffer an encrypting attack, dropbox files would be updated with the encrypted version so they would be useless. Am I right? After the Vault disabling I have thought an alternative: To make read only (and "unable to delete") the folders I want to prevent any kind of attack. Is there any way to achieve this? TIA!1.6KViews2likes12CommentsDropbox Vault offline access
Hello, Dropbox Vault sounds like a very nice new feature, and I was wondering how to access it while I'm not connected to the internet (i.e. offline). On my Mac, when I click on the Vault icon it always opens up the dropbox website, and doesn't seem to be letting me access it locally. Any way to access dropbox vault offline/locally?7.9KViews5likes13CommentsEditing files in Dropbox Vault
laughable why anyone is still using dropbox for anything besides privacy Can't edit docs in Vault? The single reason I am here is because GDrive is notoriously intrusive. Besides privacy, it's just less secure by definition. That intrusiveness is the single reason I do not use it and that is the single reason I still use Dropbox and pay 19.99 per month instead of absolute zero per month (GDrive). It is laughable that there is no function to edit things in Vault. The best I can determine it is that they are trying to shove the people who pay their bills towards buying a second account. It's unbelievable. If you're competing with FREE, think long and hard about how good your product needs to be.How do YOU access Dropbox?
Hi Dropbox community - I'm a design researcher here at Dropbox. I'm curious about how you access Dropbox! How do you access Dropbox: the website, the desktop app (for mac/windows), and/or the mobile app (iOS, android)? For those you use, why do you use them? For those you don't, why not? Is there anything you wish you could do on one that you can't today? Why?9.7KViews6likes11CommentsCan't find my Vault in Windows 11.
I have a file in vault I need to modify. It looks like I can't edit it where it sits in the vault, so I tried to open it in my PC. I can find it on my Samsung Tab, but I have no word processor there. How do I find it please?- or how do I modify it in place from my Tab 8?2.1KViews0likes7Comments
