Hello, I'm on Android, trying to access files from a third party app. I can't seem to find the files on the local device even when I have them marked as offline accessible. I see there's a way to export an individual file, but the large number of files I'm trying to have access to are spread through a bunch of folders and I need to keep the folder structure intact, so it's not feasible to manually download each file. Is there a way to get my Dropbox files into a folder that I can access with a third party app somehow? This seems like a pretty basic use case so I'm frustrated I can't seem to find a way to do it.48Views0likes5CommentsMy local files won't open. I can see them in the Dropbox folder, but can't preview them.
Unable to access my files on DropBox! Have had a DB account shared between a work laptop + my personal laptop (both Win 11 + fairly new) for quite some time. Recently retired-Work laptop went away. Can't seem to access much of anything on my personal laptop now. When I go to click on pictures or documents, I get the following: Hmmm… can't reach this page It looks like the webpage at file:///C:/Users/pgand/Downloads/Dropbox/Documents/MetLifeCritIllPol.pdf might be having issues, or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. ERR_FAILED I really hope I haven't lost everything I ever copied here. I attached a SNIP from File Explorer-they all LOOK PERFECT yet I can't ACCESS ANYTHING. Please help if you can thanks ! If so, kind of deceptive of DropBox as all the copies went well ! Please help if you can thanks !Solved335Views0likes22CommentsCan I view symlinks on the mobile iOS app?
Hi. I've had to move all my files to my local/internal hard drive and use symlinks within dropbox to keep them backed up but now i cant access any of them remotely. The reason for moving them is because it was causing me all sorts of issues when running the files directly from within dropbox / file provider. Does anyone know a way of symlinks being possible to view within the iOS app or website? Thanks83Views0likes3CommentsCan clients have full edit access to a shared Dropbox folder without creating an account?
We’re having trouble setting up Dropbox to function as our agency’s main file management system for clients. Here’s what we need: We want to share individual folders with each client so they can:Upload any type of fileCreate new foldersMove files aroundDelete files or foldersFully manage their content within their own shared folderHowever, they should only have access within their own assigned folder and any subfolders—not outside of it. The challenge we’re running into is that we want clients to have this full level of access without having to create a Dropbox account. Many of our clients aren’t tech-savvy, so we want to make this as simple as possible—just open the link, manage files, done. Is there any way to grant full folder access and editing abilities to external users without requiring them to sign in or create an account? Or would that level of permission always require a Dropbox login? We’d love to know if there’s a workaround, setting, or third-party integration that might make this possible.Solved190Views0likes4CommentsI can't access my Paper files on the Android mobile Paper app.

I Googled the question and followed the instructions to click on the 3-bar menu. I only see three options: List, Large List (selected), and grid. There is no option for "Available Offline". I want to reset some of the old files that I no longer need offline.Solved136Views0likes3CommentsThe Dropbox desktop app is slow when navigating my Dropbox folder or viewing files on Windows 11
Device Custom desktop - AMD Ryzen 9 5900X - 64GB RAM - Samsung SSD 980 PRO 1TB Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Windows 11 Pro 24H2 Dropbox App Version/Browser Version 229.4.5197 Question or Issue As I try to navigate my Dropbox folder in Windows or view any file (regardless of size) there is about a 10-15 second delay before it does anything. I can almost log into the web version of Dropbox and access the file faster than I can clicking on a single folder directly in Windows. This has been happening for a year or so now. I reinstalled Dropbox a month or two ago, switched to the Windows Store version and just reinstalled the normal desktop app version today. It is still occurring. I don't have iCloud installed or use OneDrive, I've tried reinstalling Dropbox about 3 times now. Is there a way to tell what is causing it to run so slow? Or what is causing it to run slow?1.5KViews3likes46CommentsWhy don't you let us search by file size on Dropbox Web?
Hi, when I want to find the largest files in my dropbox account, the official method according to these boards is that I need to go through the filesystem (Windows Explorer or Mac Finder) and do a filesystem search. However this doesn't work for smart sync files. Please add an option to sort by size or filter by size on the Dropbox Web interface.1.5KViews0likes9Comments
