Hello Dropbox Community Team, I’m writing to raise a serious concern regarding a written assurance from Dropbox support that now appears to be contradicted. At the time of using Dropbox, a Dropbox support assistant confirmed via email that I had unlimited storage for life, and that even if I changed plans in the future, my existing files would never be deleted. Over time, the cost of the newer plans became ridiculously expensive and simply not affordable for me. However, based on Dropbox’s assurance, I believed that at the very least, my existing files would remain safely stored on the platform, even if I could not continue on an upgraded plan. I’m now facing a situation where: My plan has shifted from unlimited to limited storage I’m receiving warnings about storage limits My files are being deleted or are at serious risk of deletion This directly contradicts the written assurance provided by Dropbox support and puts important personal and professional data at risk. I’m not asking for additional storage or new benefits — only that the files already uploaded under the original promise remain intact, as explicitly communicated by Dropbox. I respectfully request: Immediate protection or restoration of my existing files A clear explanation for why the earlier assurance is no longer being honored A fair resolution that respects the commitment made by Dropbox support I would appreciate this being reviewed and escalated by a Dropbox moderator or support representative. Thank you for your time and understanding. Chirag82Views2likes3CommentsIt says my account uses 16 GB of space but it looks like there are no files in my account
Device (HP Pavilion, One plus Nord) Operating System/Browser (if using the web) (Windows 10) Dropbox App Version (if using the app) (450.2.2) Question or Issue I am not able to see any folders or photos in dropbox, although it says that 16 GB space is occupied. same is the case with desktop and mobile app. A sleeping dog on purple cushion appears when i click on 'photos'. please help.Solved71Views0likes3CommentsMy Dropbox is full of backup files that I can't remove.
My dropbox claims to be full, but I have no essentially no files on it. When I try to see what's taking up the space, it claims that "Backup" is taking up 2.7gb out of my 2gb of space. But I have no backups, and I have no linked devices. How can I remove these "backups"? What are they backups of? Is there some way I can just "factory reset" my account to just as if I had started a new account, maybe?Solved116Views1like4CommentsI can't access my Dropbox files online after exceeding my storage quota.
Device I'm sure that this is unrelated to device, but it's pc. Operating System/Browser (if using the web) win11 chrome Question or Issue I'm currently invited into some team, and we don't use premium as it's redundant. But accidently someone hit the limit of the quota by putting temporary huge file, and I got this screen. The problem is, even I clicked the file management (파일관리), it keeps redirect to this stupid screen. The URI of this page is: https://www.dropbox.com/home?sort_by_size_desc=true After my teammate remove few ones from their desktop app, I finally can access to our files. Note that I didn't install pc app, as I merely use this space. By the way I'm tired of seeing storage alert every time I enter to page, even I don't need additional storage. Why should I bothered again and again? The reason why I merely use this service is, not only lack of need of cloud storage, but also this nausty user experience of dropbox (like agoda lmao)56Views0likes1CommentStorage is full but I can't access files to delete
I have been getting a notice that my dropbox 2GB is full and stopped syncing and that I should upgrade. But I first want to go in and through my files to delete old files I don't need anymore. But when I sign in to my dropbox I don't see any folders and files, it looks empty. So how can I access my dropbox? Thank you so much for your help.71Views0likes1CommentMy phone was stolen and my Dropbox files are missing but it says that my account is almost full
My Dropbox says that I'm almost at capacity on my basic plan but I cannot see any documents files or photos. My iPhone 14 plus was stolen and pictures of my ID and social security card were in there as well as some intimate photos. I'm going to assume they moved or shared the files because I don't see them anywhere in the list I see nothing at all. But I do see that it says I'm almost at capacity. How is this? How do I get my files? I chose to retrieve files within the last 30 days but it didn't show anything. I can't contact the live person. I really need stuff that's in there. What do I do?105Views0likes2CommentsHow can I remove files from my account to free up space and save them to an external drive?
Dear smart people, I want to free up space in Dropbox by deleting files there. Can someone explain how to put the contents (mostly word documents and some photos) of my current Dropbox onto an external hard drive in case I need something in the future? Step by step instructions I mean. I don't know how to do it, but am also concerned that the copied files could disappear from the external hard drive when I then delete them from my Dropbox account. Is that possible? I use Dropbox from a laptop computer. I looked at past discussion posts but they're all too complicated. Thank you SO much for your help!180Views0likes1Comment
