Latest macOS: Sequoia 15.6. Dropbox: 230.4.8797 I have been noticing a sync issue warning in Dropbox menu bar for a few days so I checked settings today: I had selected the "Default sync preference" as "Available offline" when installing Dropbox on Mac. But I see in the settings that it had changed to "Online-only" on its own. I have more than sufficient disk space on my Mac and in comparison my entire Dropbox folder size is a fraction. I do not do have any other folder sync selected other than ~/Dropbox and in "selective sync" tab I select all folders to be available on this mac. As you can see in the screenshot above I have not even opted for "Dropbox on File Provider" and I do not want to. Even right now as I am writing this post and it switches back to "Online-only" the moment I move to any tab even in Dropbox settings and come back to sync preferences tab. (I have screen-recording but I can't embed in this post. I can share if needed). So at this point I am not even sure whether all my files and folders are actually available offline on the mac. How do I fix this?Solved592Views0likes22CommentsHow to stop "This shared file already synced" pop-up when opening synced files from a shared link
Hey! This is a very recent issue for me, it was fine before Every time I open a Dropbox link to a file that's already synced on my computer, I get this annoying popup saying the file is already synced (screenshot below). Can we please get a "don't show this again" option? It's super annoying when you're opening links all day and I want to view them in the web version instead of the app. Also please let me know if there is already a way to disable this that I was blind to. I have the basic plan, which I've had since 2010. I haven't logged into the account for several months. I just logged in today and noticed that the only files in my Dropbox are from 2020, and include just 4 folders, and two of them are empty. I have had many folders, documents, pictures, etc. for many years prior to 2020. Is it possible that I could have more than one account under this email? Is there a way to look at my account history by event?62Views0likes1CommentCloud icon on files even with offline sync selected in the Dropbox desktop app on Windows 10
Hello I have a cloud icon on Dropbox files until I click them. Because of that my files are unavailable offline. Files were uploaded from another device, I opened Dropbox app and when back offline. I want to have all of my files available on my hard drive, especially when I'm offline. I think I have the correct settings related to sync selected. Any idea how to solve this? I'm using the latest Dropbox app on Windows 10. It used to work fine a couple months ago.Solved168Views0likes4CommentsI'm an admin and I can see shared folders in admin console but not in my account
I've inherited a Dropbox Advanced environment and am quite a noob here, so maybe I asking something dumb, but: in the admin console, I can see all users and groups, and I see a choice for "content." I click on that, and I can see some "Team Folders" that correspond to group names, and I can drill down through the folder tree and see individiual files. Then, there are many many many "Shared Folders" that don't let me do that. What do I do to get access to those files, if needed? I've a long sysadmin history back to NT3.51, and I've never seen a file structure that didn't let the sysadmin see everything.278Views0likes6CommentsAccidentally unlinked my computer from my account and linked it to a different one
After getting a very inadequate response from DropBox, I am seeking help from the community. After my computer restarted after uploading some windows 10 changes, I ended up with a splash screen for DropBox. Clinking on it, I found that I had loaded in another DropBox application which had no files and only the starter file space. I searched my computer and found in my file explorer main tree two icons for Dropbox. I also found that my old DropBox files had been put into a folder labeled DropBox (old). These were my up-to-date file folders prior to the restart. When I go on-line to my Dropbox, I find an older version on my files (like before the restart). I have saved the "new" Dropbox(old) folder to a separate hard drive for safe keeping. I would like to delete Dropbox from my computer and do a fresh install and then upload my DropBox)old). I tried deleting the Dropbox app using the outlined procedures but it doesn't delete both the file tree icons., only one. I would like to go the old account because I have accumulated bonus storage space ( with Quicken, etc.). Any help would be appreciated.171Views0likes7CommentsCan I have multiple users, each with their own security?
I'm backing up User Folders for several friends. I'd like to be able to find a way to do that so each person can log on to an account and see only their own files. I don't care if they see other folder names ... I just don't want them to access the information in those folders. Is there a way to do this with Dropbox? Currently I back up everything to a local NAS. It works fine but lacks two things: the only person who can access the NAS and see the folders is me. Second, if I gave additional access to each user, then every user could see every other user's information. Thanks.Solved165Views0likes3CommentsI switched email on my account and I don't see anything on account now
Hello! The organization I work for had a DropBox subscription under my email. Since I am leaving soon, I switched over the account to someone else. I logged in today and don't see any of our files and no sign of us having the DropBox Plus Subscription. Do you know what happened? Can I fix this??Solved99Views0likes5CommentsCan I set all pdf files to be available offline at once?
I have a user that has a small hard drive, to save space has most dropbox files online only, but have issues where he tries to open a pdf with adobe acrobat and gets an error, when he marks the pdf as make available offline he is able to open fine. So the question is: is there a way to make it so all pdf's are marked as make available offline all at once( have as a default) so that the user does not have to do this for each pdf file Individually. Thanks Regards, EricSolved215Views0likes3Comments
