Is there a way of marking individual files in the Dropbox folders so that they are not indexed/ uploaded? I use a large 32 bit application that is constantly updating an indexing file in the folder where the data files are stored, Dropbox uses a lot of processing power trying to sync (and Failing) the (48MB) file, but cannot do so because the file is open and locked by the Application whilst it is open (which is about 16 hours a day.) Dropbox is using the CPU Turbo boost trying to sync the open file, which I would prefer is used for other Applications, short of pausing all Syncing is there a way of marking the file for not being synced to the cloud? or is there a way of scheduling DropBox to sync?4Views0likes1CommentCan I have multiple users, each with their own security?
I'm backing up User Folders for several friends. I'd like to be able to find a way to do that so each person can log on to an account and see only their own files. I don't care if they see other folder names ... I just don't want them to access the information in those folders. Is there a way to do this with Dropbox? Currently I back up everything to a local NAS. It works fine but lacks two things: the only person who can access the NAS and see the folders is me. Second, if I gave additional access to each user, then every user could see every other user's information. Hello! The organization I work for had a DropBox subscription under my email. Since I am leaving soon, I switched over the account to someone else. I logged in today and don't see any of our files and no sign of us having the DropBox Plus Subscription. Do you know what happened? Can I fix this??22Views0likes5CommentsCan I set all pdf files to be available offline at once?
I have a user that has a small hard drive, to save space has most dropbox files online only, but have issues where he tries to open a pdf with adobe acrobat and gets an error, when he marks the pdf as make available offline he is able to open fine. So the question is: is there a way to make it so all pdf's are marked as make available offline all at once( have as a default) so that the user does not have to do this for each pdf file Individually. Hi - my mac has just expired and i can no longer accress it - so I installed the latest version of Dropbox onto a new laptop in the hope of downloading all my documents/files onto its hard drive - however there's nothing there.. Ive signed into my account alright but I'm wondering if having changed my email login a few years ago all my files are on a different account. I had no problem accessing my files on the old computer and as far as I can remember the login details are the same.. Obviously I can't check the settings on my old mac anymore - I'm at a loss of what to do next to gain access.. Cheers.. My account may be under my old email address, and I just tried to access the acount with that address and Dropbox said it has sent a code to that address - however - that email address is no longer in existence, so I can't ever get a hold of the code!!!! I have two emails connected to one Dropbox however I seem to have been paying for two separate Dropbox accounts for years. I didn't realise until recently. I have tried every way possible to contact Dropbox but they don't seem to want to offer any support or even communication so I let one account laps in order that they might contact me but all I get is demands for payment. Does anyone know how to contact Dropbox support by email, chat or phone or do I need to send a letter?Solved1.3KViews0likes9CommentsI have a free account and want to move and access my files from my second paid account
