Hi! I hope everyone is doing well! I'm Lauren. I have dropbox professional bc I Thought it would help me recover a few files that got deleted in February of this year. Whenever I hit deleted files and specify the date in the To field, it doesn't work. I use a screenreader called NVDA because I'm blind. Can anyone help me out? Ican't keep dropbox professional for long bc I'm on a fix income. I'd really appreciate any help with this.Make the file hierarchy panel on the left expandable so I can see all my nested folders.
It would be much more convenient to be able to see the complete title of folders 5 levels or more down the hierarchy on the OSX desktop app. Currently, I have to click further up the hierarchy and look at the right-hand panel that opens up when a file is clicked. This reduces the high-level view and takes longer than simply pulling the divider to the right to view more of the file chooser menu on the left. I want to be able to move the divider (circled in red below) left or right to see whatever is convenient, given the task and view I need at that moment.40Views0likes1CommentA folder is visible online, but not inside my Dropbox folder locally on the device
I am seeking help. A folder that was visible in my windows explorer seems to have disappeared. I can still see the folder in the browser version, but not in my explorer (which I could 2 days ago.). I checked the availability offline. I chose the selection in my preferences and the folder is ticked. I unticked and reticked it. I deinstalled and reinstalled the app. according to the browser version, I have access to the folder. All hidden files are shown in my explorer. It is a mystery to me and I don't know how this folder just vanished from my windows explorer-desktop app view. I went through the trouble shoots mentioned. Any other idea? thank you.88Views0likes8CommentsHow can I open a folder directly in the Admin Console from the All files tab?
Please add a button to the standard Dropbox folder view on the website to open that folder in the admin console. It's annoying when you get sent a link to a folder that someone needs changes made in - such as permissions - and you have to open the admin console and navigate click-by-click to that location. Would be much more convenient if there was an option to open the folder you're looking at in the admin console instead.Solved73Views0likes3CommentsI just want to see my files after opening the app on the tablet.
I know they will not do anything about it, I am not naive. I just find it ridiculous with their automated replies... I don't know how it is for others, but Dropbox is a Cloud service last time I checked...I want to see my files, nothing else, my own files in my folders, not a nonsense ideas menu or whatever they are forcing me. I am a simple man, I open the app and I want to open the file I saved there, end of the story... Same for the browser version of Dropbox, too many useless annoying design fails that are in the way of my folders37Views0likes1CommentHow to change order of subfolders within a folder?
How can I change the order of subfolders within a folder (on the Dropbox web app). I don't see any way to rearrange the order in which the folders appear. Many web apps allow one to simply drag drop to reorder folders. Can this be done in the web app, and if not, can it be done in the Mac app?50Views0likes3CommentsGenerating hierarchical folder structure overview in Dropbox
Hello Dropbox Community, We are looking for a way to generate an overarching view of our folder structure in Dropbox. Specifically, we need an overview that shows how the folders are organized hierarchically. For example, the "Testing" folder contains several subfolders, each of which may have additional nested subfolders, and so on. Our goal is to obtain a report that illustrates how these folder structures are configured, without accessing or revealing the contents of the files themselves. Has anyone found a way to generate such an overview within Dropbox? If so, we would appreciate any guidance or suggestions on how to achieve this. Thanks in advance for your help!32Views0likes1CommentWhat tool does Dropbox use to zip folders for download?
Summary: I’m trying to figure out how to create a usable zip file out of files that have non-ASCII filenames, so I’d like to find out what zip tool Dropbox uses when I download a folder from Dropbox. Background: It turns out that most zip-file-creation tools cause problems when you try to zip a file that has a non-ASCII filename. But when I download a folder from Dropbox that contains files with non-ASCII filenames, the folder arrives on my computer in the form of a zip file that correctly includes those files. So whatever tool Dropbox is using (internally) to automatically create zip files for download is doing exactly what I want to do. Workaround: If I want to zip a folder, I can upload it to Dropbox and then download it. That works, but it takes a lot of bandwidth and time. Question: So I’d like to find out what zip-file-creation tool Dropbox is using to create zip files for download, in hopes that I can use that same tool (or something similar) on my local computer, to be able to correctly zip non-ASCII filenames without having to upload and download to and from Dropbox. So do any of you know what Dropbox uses to create zip files for download? thanks, —JedSolved216Views0likes4CommentsI'm trying to download large folders from the web, but not all of them are downloaded.
I have a large folder full of (other smaller folders filled with) videos files that I am trying to download and store on an external harrd drive to have a backup of these videos. In total, it comes to ~7 Tb. I have tried downloading each of the smaller folders one at a time but this often results in not all of the videos files downloading. Does anyone know of a better way to do this? Thank you in advance!21Views0likes1Comment
