High CPU usage even when not syncing or indexing
For the past couple of days, Dropbox has been consistently using around 30% of my CPU, when not syncing or indexing anything (i.e., the menu bar drop down says `Up to date`). Any idea why this might be happening, and what I can do to get Dropbox to idle properly? I'm on a MacBook Air, running macOS 10.13.6 and Dropbox 58.4.92. Thanks.Solved86KViews6likes64Comments
Desktop app is stuck 'Starting' when it loads up and doesn't sync on my Mac.
I am a paying customer and very frustrated with Dropbox. I am ready to drop DropBox and look for other alternatives. Since Friday of last week it has been trying to sync 100Gb in files and it is taking an eternity. Now is stuck in "Starting." I have rebooted the Mac (10.6.8). I am using Dropbox 3.0.3. I have tried going to Preferences, holding the option key and "Fixing Permission." I also read in the Internet about deleting the hidden cache folder but I have not done it yet since I don't know what to expect. Any assistance is appreciated.Solved84KViews5likes96Comments
Upload keeps getting stuck at 24 files. I've tried all the troubleshooting to get it to work.
Int he past month on 6 different macs at work, Dropbox keeps getting stuck uploading files. You have to unlink dropbox, relink it, synch nothing, then synch individual folders one at a time. Its starting to be not worth it. What's going on? Ive tried bringing work amchines home and using my home network which is very fast 100mb/s. Same problem. "uploading 24 files" and the number never changes. Yes Ive checked network settings. Yes Ive tried restarting dropbox in every computer. yes Ive checked theres space. ALL of that! Hi! For years now I have used the right click - copy drop box link to allow people to download files from my dropbox. All of sudden in the past couple weeks that option is no longer available in that drop down mwnu. Drop Box app is running, and the app logo is present at the top of my desktop. Trying to upload very large files (300GB) via the desktop app.
uploading very large files I have tried to upload a 300GB file to dropbox (I have 1TB capacity) using the Mac desktop application and I am being informed that there isn't enough free space. Dropbox sync during the night
I have upgraded to 1TB. I have a Mac OS 10.10.1 Yosemite. I have a lot of files to upload and I left the computer open and connected to Internet all night. But, this morging when go to "rencently updated" in my Dropbox desktop, the last file says 15 hours ago. This means that during the night it has not been syncing. Dropbox content isn't searchable in Spotlight when using Mac OS Monterey 12.0.1
Dropbox files/folders are not searchable in spotlight on new MacBook Pro with M1 chip - Monterey OS 12.0.1. Have re-indexed spotlight. Have uninstalled and reinstalled Dropbox and rebooted.
