Unable to edit a shared file with Excel Online
Hello, I shared an Excel file with someone and until last week, he could edit this file with Excel Online without problems. But for a few days, this option is no longer visible. I checked the file, and he is still a member and have the rights to edit the file. There seems to be a bug with dropbox itself, see for yourself : I tried to reproduce the error and I searched within my personal files in the menu "Shared" -> "Links" (by the way, the links listed are not shared files... but anyway...).I found 1 Excel file which have the same problem : - when I click on the three dots on the right, I don't have the menu "open with..." - when I click on the name of the file, it opens on a new tab, directly in Dropbox, and I don't have the menu "open with" - when I am in this new tab, on the file, when I click on the arrow next to the blue button "Share", the submenu of this button loads, but there is also new options that load, and here appears my "open with" menu ! So in my opinion, there is a bug with the app. This is clearly not the expected behavior. The only problem in the meantime is that the person to whom I shared the file with doesn't have the blue button "Share", and I didn't find any other button to trigger the loading of the menu... Canât edit Excel .xlsx in iphone (app is updated)
Hi, I hope someone can help me out. My iphone app version is 322.2.2 And I am trying to edit through ny iphone app an excel document (which I created on my Mac and is saved as an .xlsx. I click on rhe doc and then click âopenâ (which is in a gray box at the bottom) but I dont get the editing (pencil icon) option after that, I Can only share, save to Files ot print. I used to edit my documentes right there and the changes would be made so that when I accesed the document again either from Mac, ipad or iphone, the changes where up to date Hope someone can help me out đSolved16KViews2likes16Comments
Linking Excel files in Dropbox without changing their path.
We just switched to Dropbox for Business. We have several Excel files with formulas that link to other Excel files all saved in a shared folder. With our local server the links would work for every user the same. Now with using Dropbox, the link will work for one user and not for another user. If the 2nd user changes the file path to make the link work for them, then it will no longer work for the first user. How do we make it so all users in the shared file can open the Excel file and have the links update without having to change the file path for each user?Solved14KViews2likes3Comments

I have 2 excel files that I had saved on my dropbox account. This week I received a new laptop from work and when I opened the files they are a version from several months ago. problem opening documents in dropbox app on laptop "word unable to read this document"
Hi there I have one dropbox account for work purposes. After working perfectly, I'm now having issues with the dropbox app on windows laptop. Error message: "word is unable to read this document. It may be corrupt. Try one or more of the following: open and reapair the file/open the file with the text recovery converter". this is affecting 90 per cent of the documents I try and access from the app. I have ensured I'm logged in to the same account (I only have one anyway), uninstalled and reinstalled the app and used selective sync for the folders I need to see in the app. following exactly the same steps on a different laptop, it all works perfectly. Excel collaboration with same account on multiple devices
Hello. We have one account with the maximum devices - 3. And we want to use the excel dropbox badge to turn red with lock when another one is editing the file. Is there any advice how to edit the text of a word document opened initially from my Dropbox account that then opens into the Microsoft word app on an iPhone? The most common files, such as excel with basic data - that is being used constantly have been corrupted due to the people not being able to recognize the fact it has been open elsewhere.
