20 TopicsPlaying audio files consecutively in the mobile app on iOS
I don’t know about you, but I Dropbox to store many things, including audio files. I’ve been trying for years to get Dropbox to add at least away to play multiple files inside a folder. Currently, we can play 1 track at a time and we can loop that 1 track. However, we’re not able to play one track after another or to loop several tracks inside one folder. The excuse is always that dropbox is Storage cloud service. I still believe that it would be a great feature to have so that way I don’t have to use a third-party app. In my humble opinion, I think it would highlight and take Dropbox to a whole new level. Anyone else here would like to see these features? I hope so. cheers, claudia736Views3likes9CommentsPlease look at your android app version, it's so much better
Simple stuff but these are crucial. PLEASE look at the Android app version and improve the iPhone app version. When you want to add a file, there are CRUCIAL things missing: the list of your favorite folder should be show on that page where you need to select import folder. These favorite folder are surely the most important, the most used folders, so make the accessible in a click when we want to import a file. Still while importing a new file. There should be a "back" button if you click on the last used folder. Sometimes the appropriate folder is the one just before and because there is no button to go back to the previous folder, you must start from the very first folder in the main string... We are in 2026, things like that shouldn't happen. If you import a file that as the same name, you can only "replace" or "cancel" the import 😂 Where is the option to keep both? Like creating "name file (1).pdf" is too difficult? Now you need to abort the import, go back to Dropbox, change the file name that is already in Dropbox, and add the new file "again". When changing the file name, the current file name (minus the file extension) should already be selected and the keyboard should open up at the same time. We want to change the file name, make it easy to do it by saving us 3 clicks for nothing. 2026 is here 👍🏼 All these elements are already existing in the android version. There are no need to waist our time by keeping this Mac mentality that is from the Stone age. Technology is supposed to help us save time, not trying to remember Steve Jobs and his stubborn mindset. Let's go Dropbox iOS, it's time to catch up with Android 🚀230Views0likes8CommentsImproved MP3 Player: Play Audio While Viewing Sheet Music or Documents
Hi there, (for iPad/iOS and general) It would be great if the MP3 player could be displayed side-by-side (for example, in a side panel), so that MP3 files can play in a built-in player while a PDF or other document is open at the same time within the Dropbox app. This would be extremely helpful for musicians and similar use cases. Also, please ensure that basic MP3 playback options are available (some may already exist), such as play once, shuffle, and loop. For my workflow, “play once” would be the most important feature. Thanks a lot! (using iOs, iPad App)164Views2likes2CommentsMake markdown file text content searchable on web and mobile app
To my dismay I discovered that text content of markdown (.md / .markdown) files is not searchable through the web / mobile app. Plain-text content of many file formats (.pdf, .txt, etc.) is already searchable so this feels like somewhat of a glaring oversight, seeing as markdown has become ubiquitous in software and tech spaces as a common file format for developer documentation, as well as widely used by note-taking / journaling platforms (Evernote, Obsidian, etc.). Since they are essentially plain-text files, this would be a drop-dead easy feature to implement, as the feature is already built. It would simply involve adding markdown file extensions (.md and .markdown) to the list of plain-text files catalogued by the indexing routine that Dropbox already performs.164Views2likes1CommentiPad iOS - Widget options
It would be super helpful to add additional options to the Add Widget . For example you have the option for the Starred files but not to scroll through them which would be great to utilize. It’s available with other widgets but not with Dropbox. Thank you!!!😁99Views0likes1CommentSupport send to iPad/iPhone in preview markup
Normally when I take screenshots on my mac I can send the image to my iPad and markup the image on my iPad (without needing to save the image to my iPad). I find this really useful as I can markup my screenshots with Apple Pencil. It would be super handy if Dropbox screenshot markup supported this also.94Views1like1CommentRevise mobile app to avoid inadvertent deletion of files
I suggest Dropbox modify its mobile app to avoid inadvertent deletion of files from the Dropbox account. "Delete" now removes the file from the entire Dropbox account, not just from the mobile device, but the app does not make that clear. The reason for my suggestion is because how to delete a file from only the mobile device is not intuitive. I now know it can be done by tapping the ellipsis (...) and then toggling "make available offline" to the "off" position. However, before I discovered that procedure, I accidentally deleted a couple of valued files from my Dropbox account (fortunately, I had them elsewhere and was able to restore them). I think the best way fix this would be to have two buttons: "Delete from mobile device" and "Delete file from account" (or something similar). An alternative would be have tapping the "Delete" button produce a warning that it deletes the file from the account, with a link/instruction how to proceed if the user only wants to delete the file from their mobile device.71Views0likes1Comment
