Goodmorning, I recently started working with Dropbox again and want to upload all my pictures from my iPhone (iCloud) to my Dropbox. It’s about 125,000 photos and it’s not easy, as my app stops after several minutes. At first it started counting and now counting down as it uploads each photo/movie. But I have to open the app again; sometimes it is completely black and it has to start again and sometimes it resumes. Also the night mode stops after several minutes. I have tried if keeping my iPhone open forever works, but no. Also un-installed the app, closed my iPhone and furthermore rebooted it, re-installed the app. It started counting up again and fortunately (of course) all uploaded photos were available, but it still stops after several minutes. I am now at 72.000 and it is too time consuming. Any suggestions on what else I can do to keep the app working? Thanks!88Views0likes27CommentsIssues with Android users updating shared files
Good Afternoon, We use Dropbox for team members to lodge daily paperwork but all of our Android users are reporting issues and the documents aren't coming through to the shared files. Does anyone have any tips on how to fix this? We have checked for further updates, signed out and uninstalled the affected apps. Thank you!11Views0likes1CommentScreenshots that are .png on my phone are not in camera uploads?
Hello, I saved a screenshot that is a png but it isn't showing up in my Dropbox? It's a document that needs to be saved on that date, but it isn't there on Dropbox, even though it is in my phone Gallery on that date. Can you help? Thank you68Views0likes7CommentsPreserve file Creation Dates(and other metadata) in mobile app versions
The ability to preserve, view, sort by, etc the original Creation Dates(and other metadata) of files is missing or severely limited in the Dropbox mobile apps. People who don’t use Dropbox primarily for business purposes on a computer but, as many of us do these days, use our smartphones as our primary(or only) method of keeping track of media/documents/audio files/etc are having to deal with the frustrating situation of trying and failing to backup/reorganize/download to another mobile device/etc our files without losing this extremely important file metadata. I can’t even view ANY file information on non-photo files, and the photos are difficult to even upload with a title that reflects the actual creation date. If not uploaded at a painful 1 image at a time (and many times not even then) the file name will be changed to the upload date/time. The creation date is ALWAYS listed as the upload time or the last time that it was moved, downloaded, re-uploaded, etc. There’s no sort by CREATION date, only sort by Modification date which is just a complete denial of basic file management for those of us who manage all of our files on mobile phones and tablets. We desperately need full file information accessibility for Dropbox mobile apps… ESPECIALLY the ability to preserve and sort by the ORIGINAL file creation dates… and to not lose access to those creation dates when moved, renamed, downloaded, re-uploaded, etc, but to keep them intact despite all modifications. Creation dates and modification dates can be preserved separately without sacrificing one for the other, as long as the files’ metadata remains intact.5.9KViews18likes15CommentsSearching for files using their full file-path.
Dear team Searching for files (e.g. by name) on the iOS app is very quick and good. However, once found, it would be great if we could see the full filepath of that resulting folder or file (e.g. C:\Dropbox\.... ) so that it can be quickly found on my laptop or desktop machine. Can you add this feature please? (Under the iOS app, you can select 'Show in Folder' via the three dots next to the file, but this still doesn't give visability of the full path.) Thanks if you can help.113Views1like5CommentsThe ability to add tags in the mobile app.
I’m not sure why this has been suggested for years now and this basic functionality still isn’t present in the app. This makes your automation really frustrating if I can’t add tags on my phone when I’m away from my computer and adding files from my phone.25Views1like2CommentsView dropbox backups on app
As described in this thread, the new version of dropbox backup is great but has a major downside: files stored via backups can no longer be accessed within the dropbox app! Quoting @mbriney from the above-linked thread because I can't say it any better: I understand the principle of having the major "backups" be in a different segment of dropbox.. but it shouldn't be that hard to access all the files. Maybe inside the regular current Dropbox app, feature a button that allows up to actually open the files that are in this "backups" section? OR maybe create another "Dropbox Backups" app that will allow us to remotely view these backup files without having to go thru the browser?12KViews28likes25CommentsNothing happens when I export Dropbox files to my iPad and I'm getting asked to verify my email.
Hello! I am having some difficulties exporting images to my tablet. I was able to do it on multiple times on the weekend but this evening it doesn’t seem to be working. The steps I follow are: Click Select Click Select All Click Export Click Export to files It then goes through the export and once it reaches 100% nothing else happens, on the weekend I would select the location and it would be done. i tried updating, logging out and restarting my iPad all without success. I also tried other files and re-downloading in case it was a file problem and still nothing. I did attempt sharing the folder but I received a message saying I need to verify my email and when I click re-send the email never goes through. I checked my Junk folder and made sure the correct email was entered. if it helps I have the basic free version and have very little space used. Any help would be appreciated24Views0likes3CommentsI'm having issues renaming scanned files in the iOS Dropbox app
I use Dropbox App on my iPhone a lot for scanning. I scan the file, then select Rename and change to what I want the name to be. Today I scanned a document and clicked on Rename. I had the name in the edit box and several suggestions below that I could select, but there was no keyboard for backspace where I could put in the name I wanted. This just started today. After I scanned the document. I opened DropBox on my Mac and easily changed the file name. Needless to say this is a hassle using two devices to scan then change the name! Any help would be appreciated.262Views0likes3Comments
