I had some issues trying to move several folders and files from one folder to another on Dropbox web, I was moving around 200+ folders with files and folders inside and it failed when moving them to another folder at the same time. I opened a ticket for it (#24692326) and also would like to Dropbox team to take a look at it, or if possible to show a warning/alert about the max. files/folders that can be moved at the same time on the web app. Thanks in advance8Views0likes1CommentTurn off transfer notifications & emails globally
We love Dropbox transfers, but we don’t need an email saying that we just created a transfer, 5 seconds after we created a transfer. Transfer download notifications and emails are also extremely annoying. Some of our transfers are downloaded by dozens of people. I don’t need 50 emails plus 50 desktop alerts. We know that we can turn off download notifications for individual transfers, but we should be able to set this as a default. Please add transfers to the notifications page in settings so we can control these settings globally.41Views0likes1CommentRemove advertising popup modals from paid plans.
Hey Dropbox team! I know popup modals are all the rage on websites these days. You know where a user goes to a website, starts looking for a thing, and then BAM the most important thing that the marketing team wants them to see pops up and interrupts their flow? So today, I went to look for a file to fire off to a client and that happens to me...IN MY DROPBOX USER PORTAL (I have paid plan) midway through typing a word! How tacky is that? (hint: incredibly tacky). And to make things even wilder, when I was venting about this to Dropbox support (I know, no one over there listens or cares, but if I'm going to be distracted from a simple task, I should really go all out, right?), the support staff (who hadn't actually read my complaint) sent me to a help center article about email notifications (that's how I know they didn't read it). Before I could get a sentence into the topic, BOOM, another modal! This one asking me how satisfied I was with the help center. So I ask, is disrupting users from using the product somehow beneficial to business? Are you getting qualitative survey responses by posing the question before the user could possibly have formulated an answer? My suggestion: stop making my paid experience reel like some amateur-hour-free-tier garbage. I know you can do better.61Views5likes2CommentsFlag file/folder for another team member
Collaboration feature, right click and select flag, dialogue allows you to select a team member or whole team, team members receive notification with clickable link to display the target *on their file system*, regardless of the OS platform they are using. Its currently impossible to share a file/folder location to another team member, sharing links go to the website with no way of jumping to the same location locally on their computer, and alias don’t work across platforms. Users are sending screenshots of file systems at each other or abbreviated path notes that are often incorrect. Alt implementation: if the target of a sharing link already exists in a recipients Dropbox add a ‘show in file system’ link to the email, alongside the link to Dropbox.com, or don’t even bother with the email and instead just notify with the link.156Views1like2CommentsShared link bandwidth monitor for Dropbox users to prevent breaking bandwidth limits
A tool designed to monitor real-time bandwidth usage for Dropbox users, aimed at preventing the maximum limit of 1TB from being reached. This solution sends customizable alerts when bandwidth consumption reaches critical thresholds (e.g., 75%, 90%) and provides detailed daily or weekly reports. This way, users can proactively manage their service usage, ensuring continuous access without interruptions due to exceeding the bandwidth limit.117Views0likes2CommentsSend me emails with the receipts of payments when my account is renewed
As a user, I want to receive a notification email when I am charged that contains my purchase receipt (date, amount) in the body so that I can easily find and forward this receipt to our bookkeeping system. I want to receive it by email so that my monthly process is more efficient and simple. Currently, it takes more than 15 actions/clicks to accomplish what could be automated with a simple inbox rule. Current process: Dropbox.com > Login > Account (clicking face) > Manage Account > Billing > Three dots beside the relevant month > Receipt > Print > Save as PDF > Save > Rename file with date > Save > Open email inbox > New > Add sender/subject/text > attach > send.299Views0likes3Comments
