Device HP Z2 Tower G4 Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Windows 10 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 241.4.4795 I have an ongoing issue with folders in our Dropbox Plus account. We use dropbox for our small company and we have a top level dropbox folder for each of our projects. All folders are owned by my boss (not me). Once in a while I will accidentally drag a top level folder into another folder. Dropbox for some reason allows this drag. But when I go to undo it, then Dropbox tells me that I don't own the folder and I can't move it back! The folder is then stuck in another folder! The only solution I have found to fix this so far is to move the folder back on the website. However this breaks the sharing for the folder so that my boss and any collaborators no longer have access to the folder! I then have to re-share the folder every time I accidentally drag them! This seems very silly, if I don't own the folder and can't move it back, why does Dropbox let me move it in the first place! Is there some better way to fix this?65Views0likes2CommentsLink an existing folder within another folder
Hello! I've found a number of instances where I'm creating a new folder for a new project and would like to link to an already existing folder from a past project. I don't want to move the folder or create a copy, but just link to it as a shared resource. I mostly use dropbox within Finder, but occasionally on web as well, so it would be ideal for me to see this kind of link in both interfaces. Is this possible already or if not, would others find this helpful as well?1.6KViews0likes4CommentsDropbox app update stopped sorting by "date modified" when I view files in Finder
Device MacBook Pro 2023 Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Tahoe 26.2 Dropbox App Version/Browser Version Basic plan Question or Issue Dropbox update stopped sorting by "date modified" when I view in Finder. I have multiple folders that I share with different people. When they added a file or folder to a folder I share with them, it would get sorted to the top of the list when I opened Dropbox in Finder. This would allow me to see the newest additions that required attention. After the latest update last week, now when I add a file or folder, it still goes to the top of the list, but if someone adds a file or folder to a shared folder, it does not go to the top of the list. It shows a newer date, but sorting by "date modified" does not bring it to the top. Any ideas? Thanks.231Views0likes7CommentsHow can I organize the files inside my folders?
Device HP Desktop Operating System/Browser (if using the web) (Windows 11, MS Edge Browser Question or Issue I create a unique Folder for each of my consulting clients. Is there a way to organize the content of a folder using headers or category separations, e.g., "New Submissions" or "In Progress"?I deleted the Dropbox folder off my laptop, and now loads of files are gone
I was unaware that my laptop was set up to file sync with Dropbox, which had automatically set itself up to house my Desktop, Documents and Downloads folders. I didn't actively use Dropbox, and didn't have the app download on my laptop, so when I deleted a folder on my laptop that was called Dropbox and said "No data", I thought that would be fine. Since, I've lost access to my Desktop, Documents and Downloads folders, and none of the data that was within these folders can be found in the Dropbox trash when I log in online. Completely baffled, and pretty heartbroken to have lost years worth of music that I'd made. I back up my laptop, but since it was all stored in a file sync, even if I go back using the Time Machine, there is no data to restore. It seems it all relied on this Dropbox sync, which seems to be empty. Any ideas on what I can do? Absolutely gutted.66Views0likes2CommentsIs it possible to automatically move files from one folder to another?

I was surprised to find that the Photos tab in Dropbox online (i.e. at Dropbox.com) contains bookoo pics from wayyyy back. I've always deleted pics from the iPhone after naming and saving the ones I want to keep on my PC (in Dropbox folders of my own (conscious) creation). In Dropbox it says, "Camera uploads is turned off." Don't believe I've ever intentionally told Dropbox to save all photos.79Views0likes4Comments
