Shortcut to files and folders
Hi, I would love to see this feature come to Dropbox as already this is possible with local file systems and Google Drive. Create a folder shortcut inside another folder to provide easy navigation and save space, not having to duplicate that folder into new folders. Example I create a different folder for different projects and have different people shared with each folder. Inside each project folder, I have similar template files for our teams to use. Right now, I have to duplicate it in each folder if I want my team to have access to that. Instead, it would be great just to create a shortcut to my template folder inside all my project folders.
How do I make Dropbox search only for the exact term I have specified?
(sigh). I need to search for the term “Landis” in my dropbox. When I try to do so, for some reason which makes zero sense, dropbox is showing me words that are similar to “Landis”. For example, I have 100 results with the word “landing”. If I wanted to search for “landing” I would search for “landing”. However I want to search for “Landis” and do not want to see results which do not meet that criteria. How do I make dropbox stop taking it upon itself to decide what I might want to see in search results, and force it to show me only the EXACT term I specify?!File size display completely wrong on Dropbox.com
Long-time user here with Dropbox Advanced account. Dropbox has an article on how to view file sizes online: https://help.dropbox.com/storage-space/file-size Here is the problem: • I have folders filled with files that appear as "--" on the list (no size) — this is wrong • I have one folder with more than 2 GB inside of it that appears as ">527.41 KB" on the list — obviously false and misleading • There are other folders with similarly misleading sizes Given that I have hundreds of folders, you can see how this file size functionality is completely useless, because the user either can't trust it, or can't see the size of the folder. Can you kindly fix this bug?
Getting an error when recovering a subfolder of a team folder
Hello. Dropbox team folder is in use. I accidentally moved the subfolder inside the team folder to another location on desktop while using the desktop explorer, and it says I don't have permission to recover it again. What should I do in this situation?
Make search by file or foldername easy again, and allow us to set default sort to Modified date
Dropbox search used to be pretty quick, where you could enter a few words in the file or folder name you were looking for and it would find it. Once it started sorting by Relevance by default, old and very irrelevant results would go to the top, but with one click you could set it to be sorted by date and find your file. But now that search looks inside files, the results are crowded by hundreds of results that you're not looking for. It's made search almost impossible for me, unless I do extra clicks that sort or filter the results. I don't have time to do this every time I simply need to find my file. I'm suggesting for the Dropbox search: 1) Sort by filedate by default. Let people click Relevance if they want to sort by that. 2) Search inside files should be a checkbox that we can uncheck, or is unchecked by default. Let us choose to search inside files (and look through hundreds of results)
