A user that has "Can edit" access to one of our shared Dropbox folders is getting a "You're out of storage" message when trying to add files. However, we have 98%+ of our 2 Tb free which is far more than enough for the files that they are trying to add. Any idea what might cause this please?Solved544Views0likes6CommentsSome files were shared with me by another user and now I'm over-quota. What is happening?
I am very confused. I've had a personal Dropbox for quite some time that I really never used. I was granted access to someone else's box not long ago so that I could read and add files to their box. Any of the files I have added have appeared in that person's box. Soon thereafter, I have been getting messages about being "over my limit," that my personal Dropbox has "stopped syncing," and that files may be "deleted." I cannot for the life of me figure out what's going on because I have not added anything to my personal account. Does this mean the files in the other person's box will be deleted because I am among those it was shared with, or the one who added some? That is my main concern. If there are files in my personal box that I cannot see or don't know about, I honestly am not worried. But I do not want to negatively affect others because of this situation. Thank you for any insight. MichaelSolved234Views0likes4CommentsPeople I shared my folders with cannot access due to "not enough space" - this is unacceptable.
I am the tech lead for my church and I have people who take photos of services and events. I wanted to use Dropbox as a place where they could upload their photos and the Pastor and I could get them to use for our website and other multi-media uses. I personally upgraded to a 3TB plan so that I would have plenty of space for them to be able to share their photos and videos without the need to do so in small chunks requiring me to keep going in there and removing them. I wasn't aware that Dropbox counts shared folders against their storage space allotted. IF this is indeed the case, I'm going to want a full refund of the year I purchased in advanced. I don't like shady scummy practices like that. I have worked in consulting for years and have had companies use their file share services to share files with me and I could create new accounts there and get what I needed without ever running into anything like this. So I'm first of all wondering if there is a better way of doing this? Why should my entire team pay for the same space that I already purchased? I really hope someone has a solution that can work. Thanks in advance.1.3KViews1like8CommentsI'm part of a Family plan, but other users can't upload files to my folder due to insufficient space
I am a member of this Family Abo of 2TB. On my side, I opened a new folder with subfolder for being able to store photos of different users. my users, I gave the access, informed me that they can not upload their photos because of capacity of 2GB. If I am a member of this family abo, can I use the capacity of this family abo? YES or NO? ...if No, then I have to apply for a costly abo. correct?Solved309Views1like2CommentsHow to stop shared Dropbox files from taking up my personal hard drive space?
I am not the owner of a shared folder . I only have editing access. I only add files into the shared folder, but now the shared folder is eating up space in my personal storage space. I have made all files offline but my Dropbox personal storage is still being used up. How can i still have access to the shared folders but not have them saved to my personal storage ? I need the files that I upload to the shared folder to be transferred to the shared folder's owners storage and not my personal storage.Solved1.3KViews0likes3CommentsShared files counting against personal storage limit
I have a free personal account with 2GB of space. I am also sharing files with someone who has a paid 1TB account. For some reason their files are counting against my limit and not allowing me to sync files any more. What is the fix?Solved821Views0likes2CommentsHow can I access the files of another Dropbox account without going over-quota?
I had another organization share their drop box with me and now I am out of storage because of it... What did I do wrong? I need a payed plan to access?
I got an invitation to participate on a folder from a company that i´m working with. I´m on a basic plan (just joined). The folder has over 3gb and it doesn´t allow me to access it - basic plano offers 2gb free. The only way to access the folder is by upgrading my account? Or is there a specific setup that the comapny with a payed account can use to grant me access without having to upgrade my account?1.7KViews0likes6CommentsA shared folder is using all of my Dropbox space.
The fact that I joined a shared folder and it's put me at 29.2/2 gigs is ridiculous. I have 0 uploaded files in my account and yet I need to pay to use the basic functions? You guys should probably fix that. I see a lot of other threads with the same issue.Solved356Views0likes2Comments
