Hey, I have an issue with the Dropbox Smart Synch function on my MacBook Pro M1 2020. Until recently everything worked just fine, I also have the "Smart-Synch-Update for Mac" Box checked in the settings. But now, when I synch a file or folder to "online only" it will do that and show, that the file has 0 Byte. But simultaneously my "other files" space in the MacOs Disk Space Tool increases so that I have about 250GB of "other files" on my system, that are no where to be found. Even if I search everything on my Mac there is no folder that is so big. Can anyone help me?3.2KViews1like13CommentsHow to set dropbox to automatically overwrite files for CCTV DVR sync
Hi, I have my Swann CCTV DVR connected to drop box to create copies of files. Every day I get a message on my DVR saying dropbox is full. How can I set dropbox up to automatically overwrite my files without continually showing me an error message that it is full? Many thanks1.7KViews0likes6CommentsCharged storage for shared content
Hello, I keep getting messages to upgrade my drop box because it’s full. My drop box account does not have any files stored in it, everything is shared from someone else’s premium Dropbox account. Why is it taking up space in my personal Dropbox and trying to charge me for the shared space and the person who is hosting the content for the same amount of space being used? They pay for the storage of their files and shared it with me why should I have to as well if they pay for it. It’s not being saved twice it’s being saved in their account?Solved2.1KViews1like7CommentsExternal drive backup complete, but vast difference in sizes
I used Dropbox to backup my external drive with 520GB of content. The backup is complete and Dropbox says it's in sync, but the size of my back up is only 428GB. Such a discrepancy scares me. Is there some really good compression, deduplication, etc. being applied? Thanks!2.7KViews0likes16CommentsWhy do shared folders take up my own account's space?
I'm working for someone who has a dropbox pro acocunt unlimited account. However, it won't let me upload to his dropbox because I have a free account and limited storage. I work for lots of people I can't join every storage solution out there. He has paid for pro, I should be able to upload to it and it should not count as part of my digital storage. I'm uploading images for him to use, into his dropbox acocunt, my account should not have any bearing should it? If it does its a very very stupid bit of product planning. Or have I misunderstood the messages I'm getting? Cheers JohnSolved7.5KViews5likes3CommentsWhy can't I add more than 2GB of shared content to my account?
Dear community, A friend of mine has shared a dropbox folder with me and he is paying to have 2TB of storage. However, we thought that when he shares the folder with me I am also allowed to upload more then 2GB of data into the shared folder (since it belongs to him), however, this does not seem to be the case I cannot upload more than 2GB? Do you know anything about this? Any potential solutions would be much appreciated! Best, FlorianSolved5.4KViews2likes10Comments
