Hi Team, Can someone please help with an email I received as below? Not sure what it all means The ???? Limited team has been disbanded by Dropbox. Your team’s folders have been converted to shared folders, and all ??? Limited groups have been deleted. Your account has been converted to a personal Dropbox plan. Reason I ask is that we had a colleague that left our company under bad terms. Many thanks in advance.17KViews0likes114CommentsHow to leave a Dropbox team? There's no option to leave.
How do I leave a team in Dropbox? According to instructions one should: Sign in to dropbox.com. Choose your work account at the bottom left. Click the button by your team name: Groups and members or # members. Click Leave team. But when going to "groups and members" in my account, I can see the team, but there is no option to leave it. Thank you very much.Solved14KViews1like9CommentsRemove from a team account and revert back to a personal Dropbox account
I have had a personal Dropbox for years which I use to do all my work, store photos, share files with clients and colleagues etc... I had a new client wanting to share files via Dropbox and without paying much attention I clicked on the email invitation thinking it was to a shared folder like I have done many times previously, but actually looks like it was an invite to join their team... So now it appears that my personal Dropbox has been completely taken over and I am now a part of their team! While I can see that it says on my Personal files that I am the only member, assuming the client can't see the files, it really isn't ideal and would like to reclaim my own Dropbox for myself. Is there a way for me to remove myself from the Team? And if so will that simply go back to my normal plan? Any help on this much appreciated as don't want to risk loosing access to my own files and account...Solved12KViews1like28CommentsBusiness and personal account - cannot unlink personal and link to new personal
I currently have two accounts, business and personal. My husband has his own account. With the upgrade to 2TB, we no longer need to have 2 accounts. I unlinked my personal account on my work laptop. It still has my business account. I cannot figure out how to link to my husband's account (our new shared account). Dropbox defaults to my old personal account login and will not let me edit it. If I try to use the "Google" signin, it chastizes me that I need to use my old personal login. I have gone to the Dropbox website and unlinked the devices (my work laptop) as well. Doesn't matter. Do I need to unlink my business account as well to give me a chance to link to my husband's personal account (aka, our new shared account)? Thanks for any guidance on this.Solved8.4KViews1like8CommentsHiding unshared Team folders from non-member Team members
I'm setting up a new Team Folder. Previously, users only saw the folders that they had access to. Now, all folders are listed. Those that they don't have permission to see are showing up with a Folder/Building/- symbol indicating that they don't have permission to see what's in those folders. I don't want unshared folders to be visible to everyone. Some of these folders are top-level company members only. I know this has been addressed in the past and at that time the only workaround was to set up all of the folders in your Personal Team Member folder. I am really hoping that there has been a change in the parameters since this post was made and resolved. https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Security-and-Permissions/Creating-locked-folders-that-are-invisible-to-rest-of-your-team/td-p/269177 This option seems like it would be an essential option everyone needs. Does one really need everyone on the team to know that there's a folder for Company Payroll or Payroll Review? or even as basic as Accounting? In my experience, people only want to see in the folders that they know the name of but yet don't have access to. I'm doing a Dropbox cutover this weekend and just discovered this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!! The worst case is that I set them all up under my personal folder now and move them out if I find out that there's a better resolution out there. Thanks, community!!!Solved5.5KViews2likes18CommentsMy Dropbox account has been suspended and my team cannot access my shared folder
Dear Dropbox Community, I am writing to seek assistance regarding the suspension of my Dropbox account. Recently, my Dropbox administrator suspended my account, resulting in all the files that I have created becoming unavailable on any computer. Moreover, many of these files are shared folders that are inaccessible to my team members due to my suspension. Unfortunately, my Dropbox administrator has poor expertise in managing Dropbox, and I am unable to make her understand the situation, and she said that I deleted all the shared folder. Hence, I am hoping to access any documentation or support that could assist me in demonstrating to my superiors what actually happened. Could you please advise me on how to proceed? I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide. Thank you for your time and consideration. Best regards, EladioSolved4.8KViews0likes12CommentsHow can I leave a Dropbox Business team?
I inadvertently changed my personal subscription to a Business subscription following accepting a Team invite from an existing client. Asking how to roll back my subscription to the state prior to the Team invite trigger and to ensure that any of my permissions/files/access doesn't change in regards to any of my Dropbox activity preceding the subscription change.Solved4.5KViews0likes12CommentsEdu account now designated as work
It’s been a while since I logged in. Trying to find a certain file. I login with an .edu email address and I’m informed I can either keep that as is and let the University have access to my files and admin rights (work account), or I can change to a personal email/account. I enter my gmail.com email but it says there’s already an account with that email. I cannot access my files unless I give my alma mater access and admin rights. Am I being forced to create another gmail account so that I can migrate my files? What’s the workaround here? There are no files in my gmail/Dropbox account. And this looks like the only spot to submit this question.Solved2.8KViews1like4CommentsDropbox management for employees leaving the company
Hi All, Good day. I would like to ask for an advise with regards to securing files and folders in Dropbox. Can you share your best practices when someone leaves the company. How can we secure data that he/she has access to. Can we set a permission not to download the file from his/her device? Is this something possible in Dropbox? Thank you in advance for your suggestions.2.4KViews0likes4Comments
