Apple Silicon (M1) Desktop Sync Compatibility
Please can you upgrade the Dropbox app so that it works natively on Apple Silicon Macs (M1) without Rosetta. Rosetta is not an option as it annihilates the battery. How does one remove the Dropbox link from the Navigation Pane om Windows 10?
I don't notice it on Win8.1, but I have already hacked out a bunch of stuff in the registry on Win8.1. I have the Dropbox folder conveniently located in the root of a second hard drive, I don't need the link cluttering up the Navigation Pane, or the Desktop for that matter.Solved152KViews24likes73Comments
Bring back the green 'synced' checkmark in the system tray.
In my Windows system tray (next to the clock), Dropbox used to show that it was fully synced by showing a green check-mark over the Dropbox icon. This was really helpfull. If Dropbox was offline, it would show no overlay icon. Recently (and according to Dropbox itsself) this has changed, the Dropbox icon now shows no overlay if it is fully synced, but to me, i constantly think my Dropbox is offline, instead of 'fully synced'. So the idea is: please bring back the green 'fully synced' checkmark. Or -at least- make it an option to show it. Please upvote this idea if you agree139KViews502likes336Comments
How do I remove Dropbox from my Mac if I get an error message when attempting to uninstall?
I am trying to delete the Dropbox app from my Mac, but it gives me an error message saying 'The item “Dropbox” can’t be moved to the Trash because some of its plugins are in use', even after closing all other open applications. Remove X from your Dropbox account?
Hello, recently I have been receiving warnings that say "Remove X from your Dropbox account and all devices? If you move this folder to X it won’t be available in Dropbox or on any devices." X are names of folder I’m simply moving in my computer, but not deleting in anyway, nor from Dropbox nor from my computer. At the bottom of the message, it says "cancel" or "move out of dropbox". [Solved] Dropbox installed on my mac but it won't open and other problems.
Ok I just switch from a pc to a mac. I installed dropbox from the website and it shows it's in my applications and in my launch pad but when I click the icon it won't launch. I then tried to uninstall it and it doesn't give me that option when I have all my apps wiggling in my launch pad. So I then researched on how to uninstall and I found that I can pull up finder and drag and drop the application to the trash. When I do that I get a message "The item “Dropbox” can’t be moved to the Trash because it’s open.". So then I try and force quit Dropbox and it isn't listed to be forces closed. So I am assuming it isn't running? Help I just want it off my computer. I don't like items on my computer if I don't or can't use them. Info on my Mac OS X Yosemite version 10.10 Please remember that any help that is given I need step by step instructions. MacOS Finder - how can I add Dropbox back to the sidebar?
Before I upgraded to Catalina (MacOS 10.15.5), Dropbox appeared under my favorites in the sidebar of Finder. After the upgrade, it was gone. I've searched many threads where this is apparently a common issue but the solutions appear to be for earlier versions of MacOS as the view I am seeing under Catalina does not match the solutions. I understand folders can be dragged to the sidebar. The problem is, I am not seeing the folder on the right, in order to drag it into the sidebar. I tried the "go to folder" but it only navigates to the files within the folder - it never shows a folder labeled Dropbox. I have the Dropbox App installed but it isn't helpful either as when I click on it, it opens a Dropbox window that, again, shows the files I have stored there. I want to be able to easily move files to Dropbox or access them to attach to an email, as I could before I "upgraded" to Catalina (which is starting to feel distinctly like a downgrade).Solved107KViews2likes32Comments
