I am having no end of trouble trying to figure out the best way to coordinate between different email addresses. I have clients who add me to their dropbox using my current work email, that is not connecting to my personal login. I know of the "link" option, but when I go to it in my settings I get a 404 error. Then, I have a third dropbox connected with my former work--the employer removed all sensitive files but I still need to have access to items that other people shared with me via that email address, and I am authorized to access the account. I use dropbox for everything and had migrated my desktop to the cloud, but now when I changed jobs everything is broken. Is there any way to not have to be constantly logging in and out of multiple accounts--especially when I have it set to auto-sync my desktop with all current-working files, it gets very confused when I have to switch accounts. Hi, I can't seem to get File Explorer to sync. It used to sync automatically but now it is not. I've logged onto the Dropbox page and tried to download the app and that doesn't seem to do anything. I have created a folder on drop box app for my upcoming holidays called "2022 Trip." When I log onto my computer (using windows) I can't find it in my file explorer. They seem to be out of sync. I've read the forums about syncing but I can't see a sync function or menu or button to do this. I've logged onto the drop box web page and tried to find it in settings but can't. I am on the basic free access and still have space. Please help. I'm not very computer savy and I've read through all the community pages but can't see my problem listed.Solved22KViews0likes15CommentsMultiple Computer Accounts but Single Dropbox account
I want to have multiple accounts on my PC to allow for different i-Tunes libraries but allow dropbox to sync the same location on the drive. Is this possible? Ex: c:\dropbox is synced via the same dropbox account for both windows accounts. This came up as an issue because it seems like the dropbox app installs to the user profile instead of globally to the machine. I don't want to corrupt my files by syncing from the same machine twice. Is there any issue with what I'm suggesting? User1 and User2's windows profiles both point to c:\dropbox and use the same user@dropbox to sync them?Solved21KViews0likes8CommentsLog out of all sessions
Hi, I believe I was compromised yesterday on my dropbox. I accidently opened a pdf from an unknown email. I was then asked to sign in to my dropbox and did so. Immediately after this I changed my passords and logged off all my devices accept for my pc. I later logged back on using my new password. I just noticed this morning in dropbox security that there is still a session logged on to my drop box that is not familar to me (this session shows that it was first logged on to my dropbox on the same time as I had the episode yesterday). There doesnt seem to be a cross to turn this session off, the browser is chrome on windows, and most recent activity is showing as 'current session'. How do I find out the current user of this session and how to I turn this off or turn off all my sessions?Solved14KViews0likes4CommentsNo option for "make online only" when I right click my files
I have a professional DropBox account and I'm working on a Mac, OS 12.5. I have several files that are sync'd locally that I would like to move off my hard drive and make online only. When I right-click on the folders, however, I'm not getting the option from the drop-down menu to make the files online only. Any suggestions? Thank you!Solved11KViews2likes56CommentsHow can I disable Dropbox for individual users on a Windows PC?
I have a PC (Windows 11) with accounts for multiple users, i.e. a family PC. I am using dropbox, and it works well. However, other users are not using dropbox. These other users experience an annoying dropbox feature after every Windows login: A dropbox panel pops up and invites them to create a dropbox account. I think these users should be able to say "No thanks, and never ask again". But I haven't found a way to stop the panel from popping up again and again. Not having a dropbox account, these users have no access to dropbox settings and preferences. Is there a way to stop this invitation panel? Not a serious problem, but an annoying feature ..Solved6.8KViews3likes10Comments
