I tried to add a team member for dropbox business, but I get the message that she cannot join bc she is part of another team. She works on both projects, and I need her to have access to these files. Hi I receive this email yesterday (see screenshot) stating my team is still in a locked state and if it was still in a locked state after August 15, 2024, the entire team will be deleted permanently. We have been using the free basic version for years and never had this mentioned before. I clicked the locked state link taking me to âWhat is locked state for teams?â help centre page. It gives me two article options â âIf you click on this link and see a page that says, Youâre about to cancel Dropbox for teams and disband the [Team name] team, the information in this article doesnât apply to your team and you should read this article instead. If you see a page that says, Choose what to do with team files and accounts, then the information in this article applies to your team.â When I click on this link, I get this error message - So I donât know if â Youâre about to cancel Dropbox for teams and disband the [Team name] team; or Choose what to do with team files and accounts I then click read this article instead, which opens another tab with the âWhat is locked state for teams?â help centre page. The article says if my team is in a locked state, which the email says it is, that I wouldnât be able to create or upload new files and folders, and that I wouldnât be able to edit them. However, I can upload and edit, so is my team in a locked state? The article also says that if my team is in a locked state, I will know because Iâll see red notification banners at the top of the page on dropbox.com. As you can see from the screenshot of our dropbox page, there are no red banners. So, is my team in a locked state? I have several clients. Each of them has its own Dropbox Business Standard account. Occasionally, I try to log in, and the account email/password is accepted, but Dropbox requests a 6-digit code we never receive in our mailboxes. Of course, I checked Inbox and Spam folders, but nothing was there. This happens from time to time, it's really annoying. Now one of my clients needs to renew and was about to access the admin console to check renew dates, prices, etc and I cannot login. I'm setting up a new Team Folder. Previously, users only saw the folders that they had access to. Now, all folders are listed. Those that they don't have permission to see are showing up with a Folder/Building/- symbol indicating that they don't have permission to see what's in those folders. I don't want unshared folders to be visible to everyone. Some of these folders are top-level company members only. I know this has been addressed in the past and at that time the only workaround was to set up all of the folders in your Personal Team Member folder. Does one really need everyone on the team to know that there's a folder for Company Payroll or Payroll Review? or even as basic as Accounting? In my experience, people only want to see in the folders that they know the name of but yet don't have access to. I'm doing a Dropbox cutover this weekend and just discovered this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!! The worst case is that I set them all up under my personal folder now and move them out if I find out that there's a better resolution out there. I have a personal Dropbox account for my work as a journalist. My business partner created a new Business Account and invited me to join only to access certain files. When I went to accept the system asked to "merge" the accounts and not understanding what that meant, I clicked yes. Then Dropbox notified me that my personal account was closed and they were refunding me my fee. How do I extricate myself from this? I do not want to own the Business Account or have that for my own Dropbox, I only need access to it. How do I restore my Personal account and revive the subscription? The person who created the new business account says it was a mistake, but doesn't know how to fix it and one can't "call" Dropbox, nor is there a way to change accounts. Ive been using Dropbox to run my subscription business for 7+ years. Yesterday, I inadvertently clicked on a link thinking it was a shared folder with a client. I have now joined their team, and my acvpunt has merged with theirs. They have ALL my business/tax information and client files. Ive tried to contact them to no avail, I don't think they'd used Dropbox before, and don't really know what they're doing. My account has hundreds of subscriber folders, all linked to specific URLs, so I cant lose my account. I've been a paying customer for years, however support so far has been non-existent, stating that i must contact this non-contactable "admin" for them to restore... potentially DELETE my entire account. I really need my account separated ASAP, my entire business and livelihood depend on it. I can't believe something so catastrophic comes with no warnings! Then I received an email invitation from colleagues to join the company team. However, when I try to join, I see an error message and cannot proceed. Why is this happening and what should I do? Have called into support and created several tickets to this but doesn't seem there's any urgency or response from the 'escalation team' 1. As an ADMIN I cannot see or manage ALL of the folders and files in our Dropbox account because of the Team and Personal Folders - So now I can't see what data is being duplicated and increasing our storage. 2. As an ADMIN I cannot move data from a Team Folder. Also cannot COPY data out of a Team Folder, can only move or copy into another Team Folder 3. Paths and mappings have been ruined to our local data and Synology NAS devices using Cloud Sync. - Now this requires us choking our bandwidth for days/weeks so that we can restore our local data.3.1KViews1like8Comments
