Microsoft Office files won't open for a specific user with an error
Integration Affected Microsoft Office Device Surface Laptop 5 Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Windows 11 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 238.4.6075 Question or Issue One of our employees is experiencing an issue with opening files saved in Dropbox intermittently. Others are able to open the files and the user can usually open the file after a few minutes have passed. This happens both when a file was just modified by another user and when a file has not been modified in days and no one else has the file open. It also occurs if a file is saved with "Autosave" toggled on or toggled off. The user can open the file via the File Explorer context menu to open the file in Dropbox.com and then in PowerPoint/Excel/Word. Is there a way to fix this as the work around takes time and interferes with the employee's workflow.
The desktop app is syncing forever
I am in this situation now. I have Dropbox business with 3 Tb and I have lots of files... It was fine until last week or so when I tried syncing and it syncs infinite. It starts at about 7K files and I let it run. I noticed that it will be at say 7232 files then it will jump to 7258 then start decreasing. It does this constantly but file numbers will vary. Eventually it gets to about 400 or so and it says a minute left, then it jumps back up to 800 and the process repeats over and over... Looking at the sync and storage in the app. It shows that I have like 5% of the dropbox on harddrive. This is not the case. I have it all on the drive so there is something rotten here. I've wasted way too much time on this and nothing works. I'll probably stop using this and go with a RAID system internally and swap out drives and periodically store one off site."Pause Sync" does not automatically restart on my Windows device.
After the new app update, when I "Pause Sync" for 30 minutes or 1 Hour, it does not restart syncing after the selected time. It does say something like "File syncing and backups paused until 1:11 PM" but it does not start syncing again at that time and stays paused until I manually choose Resume Sync. After the fact, I realized my personal folder was not accessible because it was embedded within my previous professional folder. I tried to access it and was charge for a renewal. I cancelled that. I tried to transfer files and was denied access to that function. What is the cheapest way to reopen my Professional DropBox Account, i.e. for a limited time, like one month? I can't seem to get a phone number or email address to discuss plan options with DropBox sales. Any suggestions?
