After the new app update, when I "Pause Sync" for 30 minutes or 1 Hour, it does not restart syncing after the selected time. It does say something like "File syncing and backups paused until 1:11 PM" but it does not start syncing again at that time and stays paused until I manually choose Resume Sync. I recently reinstalled Windows on my PC, and after setting up the Dropbox application again, it created a new Dropbox folder on my desktop instead of linking to the existing one from my previous installation. Now I have two Dropbox folders: The old folder: contains all my files synced before reinstalling Windows. The new folder: created by Dropbox after reinstall, currently empty or partially syncing. I want to avoid re-downloading all my files again, as I already have them locally in the old folder. My concern is: If I manually move the files from the old folder to the new one, will Dropbox treat them as "new" files and re-upload them? That could potentially overwrite changes made by my team during the two days I was offline. Could you please advise the safest way to reconnect my local files without triggering unnecessary uploads or overwriting my team’s recent changes?60Views0likes1CommentI get a 'Sign in to a team account' error when I try to add my business account to the desktop app.

Hi, I have both a Personal and Business Dropbox account linked on my Mac (same Dropbox app). The Finder right-click menu (Sync, Share, etc.) only appears for my Business account, not for my Personal one. Details: Both accounts are syncing locally (not using Backups or external drives). Under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Extensions → Finder Extensions, there’s only one Dropbox entry, and it’s enabled. Dropbox has Full Disk Access. This is a clean install of Dropbox, not an upgrade. Relaunching Finder and Dropbox hasn’t fixed it. The Business Dropbox works perfectly with Finder, but the Personal folder has no context menu at all. Has anyone run into this or found a fix?284Views0likes14CommentsDropbox to automatically remove local copies if they haven't been used in a while?
Hi all, Often the laptop runs out of space, and I have to manually go through and remove local copies of old files I've downloaded from Dropbox. Is there a way to have Dropbox automatically remove local copies if they haven't been used in a while? Or is there a 3rd party tool that can do this? Thanks!39Views0likes1CommentWhy am I not eligible for File Provider?
Application Affected Dropbox file management, file provider not eligible Device Apple MacBook Air M2 Operating System/Browser (if using the web) macOS15.6.1 (24G90) Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 233.3.4753 Question or Issue Curious why my business Dropbox account is not eligble for file provider. Is it due to how many files we have? I'm using the lastest version and followed all the steps to allow access. I have a business standard account and have been trying to reach support all day for a fairly basic set of questions having to do with new computer setup. I've waiting online for chat support and gotten no response, I've requested a call back and never gotten one. Yes, I've cleared my cache. This sucks and makes it impossible to use the tool. This is my cry for help. I hope someone from DB monitors these boards (I doubt it) and someone can reach out to me.113Views0likes4CommentsMy Business account is eligible for File Provider on my Mac, but my Basic account isn't.
Device 2019 16" MBP Operating System/Browser (if using the web) MacOS 15.5 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 229.3.5074 Question or Issue I have 2 Dropbox accounts and I've had them for a decade or so: Dropbox Basic (free) and Dropbox for Business. Checking the MacOS App, I see my business account is available for File Provider API when I choose to enable it in the Admin console but my basic account just shows that it's ineligible. Is the File Provider API available or will be available for the Dropbox Basic accounts? I have both Mac and Windows computers running the Dropbox app, does enabling the File Provider API cause any issues on the Windows computers?139Views0likes6CommentsDrive letter change in small team to same drive letter.
Hey there, i would like some advice on what is the best practice to change the drive letter on a few workstations to the same drive letter. Currently we have a few workstations with a team dropbox account on different internal drives. For instance, - Workstation 1 has dropbox on 😧 - Workstation 2 has dropbox on F: - Workstation 3 has dropbox on X: - etc. We would like to change all the drive letters on the workstations to the same drive letter X: This is useful for us so we can work on 3d projects, have all the same paths in our 3d scenes. So all the workstations are not having issues with missing textures or missing objects for instance. What is the best way to go about this? Thanks in advance!
