16 TopicsPersistent Indicator for Files with Unresolved Comments
Currently, Dropbox shows a comment notification only when a comment is new or unread. Once the comment is read, the indicator disappears even if the comment is not resolved. This makes it hard to see which files still require attention. I would like Dropbox to introduce a persistent visual indicator (badge, icon, number, highlight, or any small marker) that appears whenever a file has unresolved comments, regardless of whether they have been read already. Why this matters: Teams use comments for review and approvals. After reading a comment, there is no quick way to see that the file still needs action. Users must open each file and check the comments panel to find unresolved comments. This leads to missed feedback and slower collaboration. How it could work: Show a small badge next to the file name in the file list when unresolved comments exist. In the file preview, show a subtle “unresolved comments” indicator even if all comments are read. User impact: This would help teams working with shared documents by making outstanding work visible at a glance, reducing mistakes and speeding up reviews.132Views1like2CommentsMake Dropbox compatible with Linux ARM processors
When I searched for this, I found this suggested several months ago for the purpose of Raspberry Pis. That suggestion was closed for inactivity. I had been using Dropbox in my Linux virtual machines on Mac with Intel processors for quite a long time. I just got my first Mac machine with Apple Silicon and was so disappointed this didn't work in the Linux VM on the ARM64. I depend on ability to share between the Virtual Machine and other devices connected to Dropbox for several of my workflows, and currently must use the Dropbox website to download, make my change, delete the online copy, then upload it again while in the Linux Virtual Machine. And hey, it sounds like adding this would help the Raspberry Pi folks too!61Views3likes2CommentsImplement a "No all" option to skip when uploading duplicate files
English : If everything goes smoothly during the download and not all files are included, that can happen. But: when I initiate the download again and some files are already there, the "replace?" question only responds with "skip" (=no) "yes" "yes, all"! Where's the "no, all"?! So sometimes I have to click skip several times until all the photos are finally completely downloaded... That can't be right?! It's been bugging me for half a year now, and I'm finally hoping for some help... Update and repost, after this was closed: Oh no! I thought, that it would be in your to do list now... I would still like to have such an option and I am really waiting for it. Can't believe, that I am the only one missing this option 🥲40Views0likes1CommentPDF Bookmarks access
It would be so very helpful to be able to access pdf bookmarks. Our Board of Directors often has a large packet of materials and we use DropBox to store the file for viewing. We prefer DropBox because we can create a link that is not downloadable. However, navigating 1,000 pages is challenging, and bookmarks are so much friendlier and easier than hyperlinks to pages/sections. Especially because I haven't quite figured out the easiest way to add a "back to top" to all pages, in the blink of an eye. I have a very limited time to create my board packet, adding docs at the last minute, or replacing pages even after sent to the board. Bookmarks just work BETTER. Thank you for listening. Dropbox already holds our video files. Dropbox Replay already lets us collaborate on them. The missing piece? A clean, professional way to publish and distribute them. The Vision Imagine approving a final cut in Replay and publishing it directly to a branded, ad-free video player—hosted right from your existing Dropbox storage. No re-uploading. No third-party platforms eating into your budget. Just seamless delivery. Core Features Ad-Free Branded Player Custom player controls, your colors, your logo. Professional presentation without the clutter of platform ads or recommended videos pulling viewers away. Native Replay Integration Approve a video in Replay → publish with one click. The workflow stays inside Dropbox from raw footage to final delivery. Social Distribution Bridge Push to YouTube, Instagram, Vimeo, LinkedIn, and others from a single dashboard. Stop downloading, reformatting, and manually uploading to five different platforms. Unified Analytics View counts, engagement, and performance metrics across all platforms in one place. No more hopping between native analytics tools. Bandwidth-Based Pricing This is key. We're already paying for storage. Charging again for the same bytes doesn't make sense. Price tiers based on monthly bandwidth or views would be far more logical and competitive. Why This Makes Sense for Dropbox You've built the storage. You've built the collaboration layer with Replay. Video hosting is the natural third pillar — and it keeps users inside the Dropbox ecosystem rather than pushing them to Vimeo, Wistia, or others. For creators, agencies, and businesses already using Dropbox for video workflows, this would be a compelling reason to consolidate even further. I have a large number of files that are starred. There seems to be a limit of 2000 that can be starred before they then don't appear when you apply the starred filter (which is a ridiculous limit) Even more ridiculous is that I can't un-star multiple files at once - i have to un-star each file individually - which is going to take a long time if I have over 2000!! Please, please, please build the ability to un-star files in bulk. It beggars belief that this isn't already a feature and I have to ask for it.54Views1like1CommentPlease add parent_id to the Meta
Please add parent_id to the Meta information. Including parent_id in FileMetadata/FolderMetadata/deletedMetadata would make it easier to manage within the app. When maintaining the Meta DB within the app and handling changes made via the /list_folder/continue request, including parent id information would also make it easier to handle changes or moves. If only the path is provided, it's difficult to determine whether the folder is a deleted and then added folder with the same name. I previously suggested that deletedMetadata require id information.
