6 TopicsAdd an option to sync once every ten minutes, instead of immediately when there's a change
Currently, Dropbox seems to be syncing continuously, i.e. as soon as it detects a change it will start to sync it. It would be great if you could set an interval for this. For example, if you'd set that interval to 10 minutes, Dropbox would only sync files to the cloud every 10 minutes. After that specific sync has completed, the interval of 10 minutes will start again (to prevent intervals from overlapping when syncing takes longer than the interval). Having an interval would lower the impact Dropbox has on your system, as it will be 'resting' during the interval period with very low CPU usage (I would assume, at least). Also, having an interval, should lower the chances of locking problems occuring between Dropbox and applications using the files in Dropbox.15Views0likes1CommentOption to create a template folder or automation, based on an existing one.
SHORT - We need a to have a template for a shared folder same as we have possibility to create an email template when we want to send same information to many different people. PROBLEM - Every time I create a new shared folder manually with same structure and I cant fill it with empty subfolders automatically, because there's no such automation, so I spend a lot of meaningless time for this creating same 10 empty subfolders foe each new shared folder every time. HOW IT WORKS NOW, EXAMPLE - f/e I need to create 5 new DBX folders for our clients, who will later fill these folders with their documents. For that I create 1 new shared folder(1 action), give it a name(2nd action), add people(3rd action), create 5 subfolders with their original names (5 more actions).. I spend 10 minutes for this and perform 8 actions at least. Then I need to create SAME FOLDER FOR DIFFERENT CLIENT, so I do it again - 10 mins and 8 actions. If I make it for 5-6 clients , I spend an hour. I could copy first folder and rename it, but its not convenient at all as it will immediately land & drown in the list of other 1000 folders in our storage, so I will have to first find it to start working with it. HOW IT COULD WORK - it could be a "automation" called "set up a rule for new folder" - not WNEN it will be filled with files (focus on the files) but ONCE ITS CREATED (focus on a folder). So for example the rule can be - once new folder created - it will have the following newly created empty sub-folders with specific names. OR this could be realized as an option to create a TEMPLATE of the folder - I will set it up one time and then just use it every time I need to create a new folder of this kind. And then would be nice to be able to create more than 1 template for a shared folder. Manageable options in a template-folder could be: name, subfolders (with specific names)/ or pre-uploaded files, maybe even the addresses the folder has to be shared with. That's it, thank you.118Views0likes1CommentCopying the Dropbox version info in the preferences window
The Dropbox VERSION info on the Preferences Window should be SELECTABLE and made so that I can COPY it into the System Clipboard so I don't have to manually enter it when submitting a request like this. Better yet, place a "copy" icon next to it that will copy it into the clipboard for you.101Views1like3CommentsSaving screenshots to Dropbox: Option to not copy to clipboard
I love the option to save screenshots into Dropbox. Unfortunately if you enable it, you have to choose between: copy link copy image within the "When screenshot is ready" dropdown. On too many occasions this has overwritten something I had only recently copied to the clipboard. When I go to paste it, I instead find that it's been replaced by the link to the image, or the image itself. I still want to save my screenshots into Dropbox, but I'd love a 3rd option within "When screenshot is ready" dropdown: Don't copy anything to clipboard I'd imagine this is very simple to implement, so thought I'd ask :)26Views0likes2CommentsAdd an option to prevent a thumbnail popup when taking a screenshot
When you use Dropbox desktop app on Windows and enable the option; "Save screenshots to Dropbox" a thumbnail of a screenshot appears at the corner of the screen when a screenshot is taken. This popup needs to be manually closed if you want to take another screenshot. There should be an option in the Preferences to prevent the popup.199Views0likes7Comments
