I have an old laptop (Win10) that belongs to a disabled friend (stroke victim). His wife asked if I could pull photos from his Dropbox on that laptop. When I first connected to my home wifi, I saw his files but didn't have time to pull them. I later tried but the laptop lost access to Dropbox (I suspect updates to Windows may have caused the problem). He's since lost access to his original email account. What would his wife need to do to gain access to his Dropbox? She'd like to pull the photos he had stored Thanks Tom266Views0likes9CommentsDropboxMacUpdate identifier update warning on MacOS
Mac OS (latest stable) is giving this warning: The program “DropboxMacUpdate” has been modified Previously, the program had the identifier “DropboxMacUpdate”, but now it’s “com.dropbox.DropboxMacUpdate”. This probably means that the developer renamed the program in an update. But please inspect the names! If a process has been replaced with a script interpreter such as Python, its rules may be hijacked by a script virus. If this a legit rename of the update app identifier?Solved423Views1like6Comments- 7.3KViews18likes37Comments
I didn't unlink my old devices and now I've reached the 3-device limit. How can I remove them?
I owned two computers. I had installed Dropbox basic on both. Then I recently purchased two new, replacement computers and trashed those old ones (before unlinking the Dropbox account from either one). I realize now (and I should have realized then) what a stupid thing that was. I downloaded the Dropbox app and installation went fine on one of the new, replacement computers. When I attempted to install Dropbox on the second new computer, I received a message that said I already had reached the maximum 3 computers linked to my Dropbox account. Since the old computers no longer exist, is there now any way to Unlink those devices from my Dropbox account?Solved211Views0likes3CommentsI can't log in to my device, because I have 4 devices connected but one is duplicated.

I tried to log in to the iPhone mobile application yesterday, and was presented with 2FA. I entered the codes which came up invalid. I went back and tried another password which then worked and logged me in immediately. Overnight I have had someone try and access my gmail account using the password that I first entered on the mobile application. And upon logging in to Dropbox I can see that I do not have 2FA enabled. Is the iPhone app compromised?!?Solved1.5KViews0likes6CommentsClear recent and sync history.
It would be very useful -- and I know this has been mentioned many, many times on the forum -- to be able to delete the Recent and Sync history that shows *every dang time* you click the system tray icon. I have little need for the information. It would be best to allow a user to choose whether to look at the data as needed or every danged time. It would also be useful to simply be able to clear the data. There are times I do not want a visitor to see the names of other customers or clients. Medical offices, I'm sure, have troubles with this, as it could be a HIPA violation. I, honestly, yearn for the 'old' Dropbox tray app, that simply opened the local Dropbox directory and got out of the way.885Views1like2CommentsCompletely uninstall dropbox
Why when I uninstall dropbox it is still there?? It comes out of my programs and the App disappears when I press uninstall, but when I type in dropbox my folders and everything still comes up. I want it all to be gone so I can start a brand new one. I had some sharing problems with the old one. Please help, I am so frustrated with something that should be so simple.Solved2.9KViews0likes5Comments
