Dropbox Plan Basic Do you have access to the email linked to the account? Yes Hi everyone, I sent a DEM (direct email marketing) campaign via Pipedrive to about 400 contacts. In the email, there was a CTA linking to a Dropbox folder (shared via a public link). At first, the link worked correctly — but after a few hours, recipients started reporting that the link was no longer accessible. I’m using a Dropbox Basic account, so I can’t open a support ticket directly. The shared content was legitimate marketing material (a brochure and some media files), and the traffic came from the campaign — no suspicious activity or abuse. Could someone from the Dropbox team please check or help me reactivate the sharing feature on my account? I would also appreciate advice on how to manage traffic from campaigns safely in the future to avoid new suspensions. I received a pop-up dropbox notification to share with a "Losurdo Inc". I never received one from someone I don't know or action I didn't make. I pressed it to see what it was but it popped up and I deleted it. It remained in activity and recent files without the 3 dots. All my other files have them so I can delete. The file was named " Losurdo Inc_Missing PO#32686.docx". I disconnected all my devices and Uninstaller then installed back. I no longer see it, but how can a party have access to dropbox to send a dropbox notification? Have I been hacked? Any advise would be helpful. Hello everyone, sorry but i'm very frustrated. 2 days ago at some point my sharing options has been disabled with a message "Unable to complete sharingWe've suspended your sharing activity. For more details or to contact support, read our <link>Help Center article.</link>" And yes.. there were indeed the <link> and </link> html tags in the popup and in fact the link DID NOT WORK. So I Googled it and found the article in question. I contacted support via chat, and a friendly person answered and REPEATS the same things from the article twice. They also told me that, for SECURITY AND PRIVACY reasons, they couldn't tell me WHY, or even WHEN or IF, this suspension will be removed. They opened a ticket for me in the "ENHANCED" department. The only thing the department in question did was... REPEAT the things in the article 2 MORE TIMES but they can't do anything more because for SECURITY AND PRIVACY reasons they don't see anything. I also point out that in the article in question at a certain point it says: How do I resolve this issue? If you encounter this situation for the first time, your sharing activity and link or file requests will be suspended for 24 hours. Subsequent occurrences will result in suspensions longer than 24 hours. You should receive an email with instructions on how to address the issue. I tell them I haven't received ANY EMAIL explaining what happened. Answer: The email is sent only after the first violation. Fun part: 3 operators told me that... the article is wrong! I swear! They linked it to me like it was the Bible and told me "no, the article is wrong! You won't receive any emails." (I should point out that the first violation had exceeded 20GB, I had the super-cheap plan, and obviously, the first sync, I exceeded... I understand, I PAY and increase it by upgrading to the Professional plan.) The funny part is that they keep saying PRIVACY AND SECURITY, but no one knows why... the first time they tell you PRIVACY AND SECURITY, who cares, but the second time they tell you "WE CAN'T SEE ANYTHING." And the most interesting part... THEY DON'T SEE WHEN THE BAN IS REMOVED... I mean... you, the user, could be banned FOREVER and they can't tell you... BUT YOU WANT THE MONEY! OH, YOU KNOW THE BILLING DATE TO THE EXACT HOUR, MINUTE, AND SECOND. But not the blocking/unblocking date. Bottom line... hope everything goes well, otherwise forget about any kind of support. So, well, we're waiting for God to come down to earth and unblock file sharing because, well, who knows when it'll happen. Today, tomorrow, a week, a month, a year, a century, a millennium. They don't know. Security and Privacy! I received a request through Dropbox, to allow a complete stranger to access a file. ...a file I've never shared with anyone, and should only be visible to me. The file is a PNG and is something I named, which is less likely that someone could guess. Its not a complex named file, but too many coincidences. How is someone else able to see the file name, how are they allowed to even make requests for files that were never shared outside of my account? Not maybe .. but NEVER shared, so its not like someone could've sent a share link forward etc.. Given a recent FUBAR configuration problem from dropbox, where it was automatically creating sharelinks for files despite its configuration not to, and that I had to manually go in and delete several hundred links when I discovered the issue, its another concern of a security and privacy violation for a service that is paid to keep our stuff safe. Basic message received: ============= [email removed as per Community Guidelines] wants to access your file "xxxxxxx.png." I bought DropBox ONLY because it had the Send and Track feature. Am I correct in understanding, that: That it no longer functions and I should another service, open a separate account (both DropBox AND Send and track subscription) or what should I do?
