Hello, I have created a new folder "Camera upload Karla" where I want my wifes iPhone to automatically upload photos to. This seems not to be so easy, as Dropbox on a phone will only upload to "Camera Upload" folder. Is this correct? How can I make her iPhone upload automatically to the new folder? I am on the latest iOS and Dropbox for my iPhone 13. Dropbox 324.2 and iOS 16.4.1 I noticed that it was going forth between 5 and 4 photos left. There is plenty of room in dropbox. Nothing has been uploaded. I followed the instructions mentioned here https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Storage-Space/Photo-backup-on-iPhone-isn-t-working/td-p/515471 for clearing the cache and rebooting. Still have the same issue and it won't give it up. Problem also exists backing up via cellular. Problem also persists after full delete and reinstallation of Dropbox on iPhone.Solved27KViews10likes42CommentsConnecting DropBox to Samsung My Files.
I have read that as of October 2019, Dropbox no longer supports connection to the Samsung "My Files" app. I suggest that Dropbox reconsiders this decision, because: 1. Other big companies' cloud storage services such as OneDrive and Google Disk are allowing connection to the Samsung "My Files" app. 2. Dropbox already allows connection to the iOS "Files" app. 3. This encourages Samsung users to easily use Dropbox within one files app, which could convert them into paid users. 4. This will not take away from the usage of the Dropbox app, since many great features are still needed to be used on the Dropbox app itself. The Samsung "My Files" app just helps to easily reach the stored files of many cloud storage services in one place, and nothing more after that. Thank you Dropbox team for all your wonderful efforts for us.3.1KViews8likes4CommentsTurn off email notifications for file request uploads.
Hi there. We run a community radio station, and people are constantly uploading new audio files to us, so our email account is getting bombarded with notifications every time a new file arrives. We check our Dropbox account regularly, so these notifiations are completely unnecesssary, and we would like to have the option of turning them off. I looked through the Dropbox forums, and it appears as though other users have been requesting this feature for many years, but you still haven't implemented it! Can you pleae take this into consideration?186Views5likes3CommentsRetain folder structure when using Camera Uploads on mobile app
Backing up photos on mobile dumps them all into one 'Camera Uploads' folder. The expected behavior is that the photos uploaded will stay in their own folders. This should at the very least be a toggle option. Every other Dropbox Backup solution retains folders, so why are photos any different? You even select the folders to upload from when setting this up, so the functionality is a step away. Pretty jarring UX from an otherwise great service.134Views5likes3CommentsEnhancements to the Upload Experience on dropbox.com
Enhancements to the Upload Experience on dropbox.com Hi! Iâm Alice and my team and I have been hard at work behind the scenes to improve your uploading experience on our website, and we're thrilled to unveil some updates! Before we dive into the details, we want to give a big shoutout to all of you who shared your thoughts and experiences with us. We believe in the power of community, and it was through talking directly with you guys and reading your concerns on this forum that we were able to identify your biggest pain points. So, a heartfelt thank you for your invaluable feedback and insights! One of the major concerns we heard from many of you was the frustrating issue of your computers going to sleep during uploads, causing interruptions and delays. We understood the annoyance and inconvenience this caused (we heard that some of you would set a timer just to remind yourself to jiggle your laptop mouse!) We're thrilled to announce that we now automatically prevent your computers from dozing off during the upload process on major desktop browsers. We also wanted to address those pesky transient errors, like sudden network disconnections, which used to immediately fail your upload. We knew how frustrating it was to see your progress bar reset after a momentary hiccup. As a result, we introduced auto-retries! Our system now detects those transient errors and automatically retries the upload process, giving it multiple chances to succeed. Now if your laptop disconnects from the internet while youâre away making a strong cup of coffee, Dropbox will automatically restart your upload for you once you reconnect. In addition, our engineers also dived into our codebase to really analyze what was causing failed uploads and fixed a variety of issues at their source. However, it is impossible to prevent all uploads from failing, so in the rare occasion that an upload does fail, we wanted to give you more control. That's why we've added a âretryâ button that lets you retry a failed upload with just one click instead of needing to take multiple steps to relocate and restart the failed files. Last but not least, we know how frustrating it is when itâs not clear whether your upload is stuck, so we added a new mbs uploaded indicator that will give you confidence that your upload is progressing as expected. We hope you are as thrilled as we are about all these updates and hang on tight because more improvements are coming! Keep talking to us and letting us know how we can improve your Dropbox experience - your painful stories (for example about spending a week uploading a large number of files over unreliable internet!) have been the driving force behind these enhancements. Weâre listening! Happy uploading, folks!1.6KViews5likes1CommentRidiculously slow upload speeds
I've tried uploading through the website and using the windows app. In both cases I'm lucky if i get 1/100 of what my actual upload limit is. I'm trying to upload about 4gb worth of files and it's saying its going to take 2+ days because it's uploading at 20kbps. Even comcast is faster then this. I've already set the app to use unlimited bandwith and it hasn't helped. Dropbox is pretty easy to use, but if this is the fastest I can upload, dropbox is going to get dropped.Solved31KViews5likes86Comments
