Why ?28Views0likes4CommentsI got an offer for a 100GB Lenovo promotion, but it was never applied to my Dropbox account.
I bought a new lenovo legion 5 laptop. when i opened the "Lenovo Now" app, it showed me a picture saying, i got a free offer of 100 GB of drop box, for free for 90 days. when i clicked Confirm, it said drop box, is now going to start installing, and it will show up as a desktop icon. i kept waiting, it never did, so i installed the dropbox app manually, and when i logged in, i had my default 2 GB. and the Lenovo Now app no longer shows that message.195Views0likes8CommentsWhy are some files in the admin account on my Windows computer as well as the non-admin account?
Running windows 10. In my non-admin account, (let's call it "Anthony"), I have 29GB of files in the dropbox folder. In the Admin account, I don't use the dropbox location, but under the dropbox folder, there is 16.6GB of files, and all these files are in the Anthony account. Why would there be some copies in two places? Can I delete the Admin ones? I have Windows on a C: partition with 30GB free out of 200GB. The "Anthony" account user data is on a D: partition of 1.2TB with 200GB free. I'm trying to reduce the size of the Admin account which is wholly on C:. I also have several strange issues with Windows so I am looking to upgrade to Windows 11 but want to ensure not to lose any dropbox files. Because of the issues, I may need to perform a fresh install and would need to backup/restore the user profiles (%APPDATA%) somehow. In this case it would be worthwhile to reduce the size of the user profiles (which are typically on C:) I need to know that if the Admin account was recreated, as a part of a new install, that dropbox would work and I would not lose any files. I've tried all suggested methods for fixing the windows issues I have but to no avail. Numerous scans/fixnow. Repair Windows. I've recently reinstalled Windows 10, preserving apps and files. Nothing has worked. That's why I think I will end up with a fresh install. Any ideas or information would be appreciated.243Views0likes10CommentsDropbox downloads all files despite online-only settings
We use Dropbox in our company and despite default settings being set to online only, I've noticed that Dropbox will sill download all files as offline. This has happened to a few users lately. The steps that I have taken is to sign out of Dropbox, unlink the account, delete the files on the hard drive, restart the computer and re-sign in. I have double verified that the settings say online only but despite this after a few days it will download all files offline again. There is something wrong with Dropbox and I'm not sure if it's a windows update or what. All we use is Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and Blue Beam PDF. The antivirus we use is Microsoft's windows defender. Any ideas what is causing this would be greatly appreciated.392Views1like8CommentsDropbox files consuming hard drive space even after switching files to online-only
Hello All, My Dropbox is consuming a lot of space on my local drive because the files are available offline. Recently, I marked all folders as "Online-Only," and I initially recovered about 40 GB of space. However, Dropbox is still occupying around 190 GB on my system. I need all folders to remain visible in File Explorer, but only as online-only files. Could anyone advise how I can free up the remaining space while keeping everything accessible in Explorer as online-only? I appreciate any insights or suggestions.311Views0likes10CommentsDropbox online-only consuming hard drive space on Windows
I set my Dropbox and folders to online only but it is still taking up the majority of my hard drive. The files are (also?) located on my c drive: C:\Users\JaneDoe\Dropbox. If I delete a folder from the C drive it deletes it everywhere. I'm not sure how to fix this as I have never had this problem before.Solved336Views0likes3CommentsMy Dropbox folder is taking up a lot of space on my computer
Hello: Shortly after I got a new computer, I keep getting messages that my hard drive is full. so when I check the storage it is my Dropbox folder using all the space: and when I go to the website, I have 2T space available: So, my 2 questions are: I obviously do NOT need 2T space, so can I change my subscription to give me less space? How can I remove the Dropbox folder off my hard drive and only use the website? I changed the setting to "available online only" but I do not really know exactly what that means. I did not seem to change the space - maybe I have to restart the computer? Thanks, smblockSolved356Views0likes1CommentMove default file on Windows 10
