I have dropbox installed on multiple devices and they all work fine, except it has suddenly stopped uploading on my windows laptop. I moved a load of photos off my phone onto dropbox on my laptop last week and only a handful have uploaded. The icon in my tray says it is syncing 405 files and has 36 minutes left. It's definitely not a problem with my bandwidth and I have checked the settings to make sure that dropbox isn't set to a low upload speed. I have tried pausing sync and restarting, I have tried closing dropbox and re-opening. I have also tried restarting my laptop and it uploaded 5 files then stopped again. I am a pro user and have only used 50% of my available space. Can anyone help?Solved80KViews0likes214CommentsFolders added from one device don't show up on Window File Explorer between two devices.
I created a folder and subsequently created some files in a Dropbox folder from a laptop here in the office. This folder fails to show up in Windows File Explorer on another computer in the office. I can see the folder from the Dropbox App and tell it to open the files with the software on this computer, but I cannot see the folder from Windows File Explorer. This has been going on for several days now, and have re-booted this computer to see if it would sync up, but no success.Solved22KViews1like9CommentsI can't see any sync icons next to my files in my Dropbox folder, what can I do?
For some reason my drop box files and folders no longer show the "green tick" when synced. If I right click the system tray icon there are only two options Dropbox or uninstal. I can see no way of accessing the gearwheel lots of the replies to this issue suggest. I have installed the latest versio of the app and running windows 10. Any ideas?Solved20KViews1like7CommentsSmart Sync not showing up
My PC previously installed the Dropbox with Smart Sync function, but recently after an update I have lost this function and I don't seem to see any on/off switch in preferences nor on the right click list on Dropbox folder. My mac however do still have this option. The version I have currently installed on the Windows is v87.4.138. Really appreciate some advice, thanks!Solved18KViews0likes8CommentsHow do I sync the My Documents folder with Dropbox?
I'd like to have the My Documents folder on my HP synced with Dropbox, so I have a backup in the cloud. But I can't figure out how to do it without having a copy of My Documents in the My Dropbox folder (i.e., having two copies of My Documents taking up space on my hard drive). I might be overlooking something simple, but the system won't let me move My Documents into the My Dropbox folder, only copy it there. I just want files to upload to Dropbox automatically every time I add them to my computer. Using Window 7 and Windows Explorer, if that helps. Any ideas?18KViews1like7CommentsUnable to stop or turn off desktop backup [SOLVED]
A while ago I turned on the new 'backup desktop/documents/downloads' feature. Now I want to turn it off, but I can't. There's no obvious 'turn this feature off' button. All the instructions I've seen point to a 'manage backups' or 'import' tab, which I don't have. I've upgraded to the latest Beta (Win 10), uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted several times and nothing. I've just set Dropbox up again and I have unchecked the 'MY PC' box. But Dropbox is just merrily syncing all my stuff again. It's insane that Dropbox would enable this feature and not give users a simple way to turn the thing off. Does anyone know how I can do it?Solved16KViews3likes44CommentsThis file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action
I'm totally shocked that this error is not on forum. May be its too new or people just reinstalle dropbox or something. We have dropbox bussines at company, I have like 120 computers arround the word. We use office 365 with local installed apps (word, excel, etc.) A new bundle of computer arrived so I installing all them from scratch. I install fresh offce, and fresh dropbox. everything fine. dropbox shows the folders, etc BUT when I open any file INSIDE dropbox filder, for example a Word file, y get "This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action" which is not a windows error, but dropbox generated. If I copy the file outside dropbox directory its open perfectly without any problem. Some times I put repair on office install and that fix it, some times need to reinstall dropbox. The crazy thing is that happen on FRESH install on any computer, just installing office and then dropbox. I tried everything. first instlling dropbox, then office, etc etc. I'm using latests installers from both. Any idea how can fix this and not need to reinstal an repair, on a fresh install???Solved15KViews1like8CommentsRun Dropbox as Service, without being logged on
I have been scouring the internet for how to setup Dropbox to run on Windows Server 2012 R2 as a service. I have seen tutorials for 3rd party applications that will start it on boot and allow sync, but I cannot use any additional software in my company environment. I want Dropbox to be up and syncing 24/7, but this is not possible without physically being logged into the server. All I am looking to do is run Dropbox at boot as my local account, and login to my Dropbox account to allow sync. Can someone please assist me with this issue?15KViews0likes9CommentsIs there an option to use Dropbox as a mounted cloud drive?
Hih looking to see if Dropbox has a "drive" option where if you are connected to the internet, you can see your data through a folder on your file manager. When you disconnect, it goes away. Much like Box and Egnyte have. I "assumed" Dropbox has this functionality but do not see it anywhere I look on the app. Any help? Thanks!!Solved15KViews1like6Comments
