Hi all, thank you for your feedback on this. We've passed it on to the team for their consideration.

For now,  if you want to open a file with the KeePass app, you can do so by tapping the three dots (in browse or in the preview screen) and selecting the "Open With..." option.

I have used Keepassdroid with Dropbox for years. I learned to open Dropbox and click the kdbx file to launch keepassdroid. If I started with keepassdroid, the local kdbx filename was different each time - apparently a temp scratch file. But for the past few weeks, I get the same error others have reported (".kdbx files can't be previewed"). The "open with" workaround works, but a direct solution would be appreciated. I am using a Pixel 6 running Android 13 Build # TQ3A.230901.001.C1, with Dropbox version 346.2.20, KeyPassDroid version 2.6.8.

The solution above worked for me on my Galaxy S23 Ultra.  Thank you.  I will be interested to know when this is fixed so that I can get to my KeePass database via Dropbox the normal way.  Thank you!

This relates to an android phone. There is no option on the ".kdbx files can't be previewed" display to "open with". This is new within the last month. It used to work just fine by just selecting the .kdbx file in Dropbox.

bs10:  Yes, here's how to get to that 3-dot menu containing Open With... on Android:

    1.  Open dropbox on your Android.

    2.  Go to the location in dropbox of your .kdbx database.

    3.  You should see the database file KeyPass.kdbx.

    4.  To the right of the file, tap the 3-dot menu.

    5.  Down near the bottom of the resulting menu, you should see Open with...

    6.  Tap Open with... and the KeyPass login screen should open.

    7.  Login as normal.
