A few files are always on top of my imported images under the photos tab. They have a normal creation and modification date and are located elsewhere, not in the camera uploads folder. How would I fix this? thanks25Views0likes1CommentMultiple windows for folders in Dropbox on Android
This USED TO not be a problem, but I think an Android update may have set me back. I once was able to put a dropbox widget (folder shortcut) onto my Android home screen that would take me to folder A in dropbox. I had a second widget that would take me to folder B in dropbox. Then I could toggle back and forth between those two folders using Android windows (or "Activities" as they call them). Now, and again I suspect an update caused this, I still have my two widgets, I click the widget to folder A and everything is good. But when I return to the home screen and click the widget to folder B, it opens up IN PLACE OF the window that had folder A. I can no longer have both windows open. Without going into details, this is a major problem for me as I have to re-navigate inside dropbox to get back and forth to the 2 folders. Has anyone run into this? Thanks ahead of time.40Views0likes4CommentsPhotos don't load on mobile app (android) or desktop (windows)
This has been going on for a while. The photos are there - they are visible in grid - but if I try to view them, Dropbox stalls, apparently trying to load all the photos in the folder. If I choose OPEN WITH for any individual photo, Dropbox will load with any of a number of applications offered. But that means I can only view one photo at a time and cannot scroll through all photos in the folder. Viewing any photo individually in this way does not mean that it will be visible in dropbox afterwards. Making them viewable offline doesn't make any difference.72Views0likes4CommentsVideos that are uploaded to Dropbox on my iPhone don't play when they're downloaded on my computer.
my iphone is getting full of my photos and videos and i wanted to use dropbox to move the larger videos to my computer. however everytime i upload a video from my iphone and download it on my computer, when i open to watch/view it on my media player it wont let me view and tell me i need to buy a codec. i dont want to pay for anything and i only plan on using dropbox to transfer large files from my phone to my computer.Solved356Views0likes6CommentsI can't download files on the Android mobile app
I'm able to download from the web version, but starting this morning (June 24, 2025) I can not download from the mobile app. I can upload and do everything else from my phone (Samsung S24 Ultra), but it says "error downloading xxx filename". I though I could add a screenshot but I don't see any way to do so. I already tried uninstall and reinstall with no luck.172Views1like20CommentsI can't download a shared file via link when opening it via Facebook Messenger's browser.
When I share a Dropbox link on Facebook Messenger, and the receiving user opens it inside of Messenger's browser on their phone, they are unable to download the file. The user is first faced with this page: If the user does not have the Dropbox app (which they should not need to), they select "Open in browser" They then press the arrow in the lower left of the screen (or "Download" in the menu in the upper right). On my Android phone, you are prompted with the message "You're leaving our app...". If the user clicks "Go back", the file never downloads. If they click "Continue", they get a 403 error. On my wife's iPhone, the whole page freezes and you cannot even get to the "You're leaving our app..." message. The only two workarounds is (1) for the user to download the Dropbox app or (2) to open the link in an external browser (outside of Messenger). However, these solutions are unacceptable and the faulty interaction between the Messenger and Dropbox mobile apps should be fixed.149Views0likes10CommentsCan't play music when I minimize the Dropbox app on Android
Hello. When I minimize the app while playing music on android it stops playing. I've tried to add a new player and open my files in external apps but nothing works. My whole music team uses dropbox and it's very incovenient for us, and I saw a lot of people talking about it on the internet. Do you think it would be possible to fix this problem? Thank you so muchSolved566Views0likes2CommentsReduce visual spacing between folders and files in the Android app
Android app displays quite large visual spaces between folders and files. These large spaces reduce the amount of content visible at once and make the interface feel less compact. It would be great to have tighter spacing or an option for a more condensed view.74Views0likes3CommentsIs there a way to change the auto-play of the audio files on the mobile app?
We used to love to use Dropbox to play music for recitals because it would automatically stop after each song. I have noticed that recently this feature has been removed and now it immediately goes to the next song and plays it. Is there a way to choose whether you can auto follow to the next track or play single track?60Views0likes2Comments
