Can't preview .MOV files on Windows
A friend of ours had her wedding photos and videos uploaded to dropbox via their photographer. however this came after arguements with him about the stuff not being ready and now he has stopped reply...

we have the folder on dropbox but they are very large .mov files.
The first thing I'd suggest is to either download the files or save them to a Dropbox account of your own, if you haven't already done so. If the photographer invited you to a shared folder or simply sent you a shared link to a folder, they can remove access at any time and you'd have to way to access the files. Download the files or save them to your own account (if they're in a shared folder, make your own copy outside of the share) to ensure that you don't lose them.
the files wont open on anything as it says the server is down or the file is not supported.
Make sure you have the necessary codec installed or your media player won't know how to play the files. I'd suggest using something like VLC media player. It supports a wide range of video formats and rarely has it ever been unable to play a video that I throw at it.
My friend had downloaded onto a hard drive but says the file is encrypted.
If the files truly are encrypted there's nothing that anyone other than the photographer can do.
