Downloaded folders are empty

Hi there,

My boss has been having an issue with the Dropbox Windows 10 App where folders download without the contents downloading along with them.

His process of downloading the folders is simply opening the dropbox tab in windows explorer, selecting the folders he wants to download, and dragging them onto his hard drive in windows explorer.

However, when he does this, more often than not the folders which according to the dropbox app are full of content, show up completely empty once they're downloaded.

There are no error messages that pop up, dropbox acts as if everything is working properly.

Why is this? Are there any workarounds?

Hi, thanks for getting back to me Lusil

The only speciwl characters used in the files and folders were  .  -  and &

None of the unsupported characters you linked.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks!

Thanks for getting back to me, wintert

If they are dragging folders from the Dropbox folder or the desktop app, could you ask them to try manually copy and pasting them, instead?

Out of curiosity, could you also let me know if they've tried downloading the folders via the website?

Let me know how it goes, thanks!
