2 years agoHi Sam Bestov, thanks for messaging the Community!
Could you doublecheck again the setting you have on this page for default editing apps on your account?
This will help me to assist further!

Hi Jay,
Thanks for reaching out, for Word & Excel the settings are:
"Word on the web"
"Excel on the web"
Powerpoint I didn't change yet.

Are you viewing these files while logged into your own account, or is it via a shared link?
Could you attach a screenshot showing the file in the folder it's in, and then after you open the file (while hiding any personal info)?

Hi Jay,
We were able to fix the problem within our team. The files I was refering too weren't mine, but my colleagues who's deafult apps weren't set to Microsoft. The files, when used within our team, open in an 'Excel for Web' format.
But when sharing a link with people outside of our team, it seems it still opens the file in a Dropbox-viewer format, with the wrong date-notation.
I've included screenshots of the file:
- in the folder
- as seen by our team
- as seen by 'outsiders'
Thanks again!
Best
Sam

Thanks for the images, I've removed them for your own privacy and security.
I did a test on my end and the Excel file previewed the files normally, with the dates in the correct order.
Do you know if the file itself in its properties is set to your location with DD/MM/YYYY as the year format?
