There was a problem parsing the package

Starting this morning every file I download from my Dropbox results in "There was a problem parsing the package". I've tested half a dozen files, and all have the same results. This is happening on four devices, two with external storage and two with only internal storage. I've also downloaded and installed files from four other sites, non-Dropbox without issue. Can someone please give me some thoughts on this? Thank you.

  • No problems since about 2:00 pm Eastern. Thank you

I could not find any status indicating that there was a download issue per your linked reply.

Fortunately, it's all good now. Again thank you.

Hi MikePDX, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

What type of file are you trying to download? Could you try switching browsers to see if this helps?

Otherwise, you can try using incognito/private browsing mode without any extensions running, clearing your cache and even resetting your browser entirely.

Keep me updated with any progress!

Hi and thanks for the reply. This was failing for about six hours today. In short. Android tv device/Downloader/apk files.

Problem on four devices here and I had three people check elsewhere. All with the same result. Suddenly a few minutes ago, working normally.

By no means can I explain it, and it wasn't the fault of options or Downloader itself as I was able to use it with no problem on several other sources.

Some anomaly from Dropbox today? I can't say. Again thank you.

Just for clarification, is this only occurring on the Android TV, or it is also on the normal site when downloading an opening files?

My only interest at the time was the Android.

Apologies for not trying a 'normal' download as well.

However, I can by elimination limit the issue to my own Dropbox as the same download utility was used by me and others without issue.

It's likely this was related to our earlier download issue on the Dropbox site and services.

Are you experiencing any further issues currently?
