All my files and folders have disappeared from my MacBook Air.

All files and folders have disappeared from my account on laptop MacBook Air.  "deleted" is empty, so is "events".  This happened once before but everything reappeared.  This time it's been 2 weeks and no luck.  Help, please.

Hi there, Lil7, let's jump right into this!

When was the last time you saw those files online when visiting your account?

Is it possible that you're signed into a different Dropbox account, hence you can't locate your content?

One more thing: are you able to locate your Dropbox folder locally on the device but it looks empty, or is it also missing?

Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

    Hi Megan

Last time i saw the files on laptop was a few weeks ago.  Everything is still visible on the iphone app.

I'm signed in to the correct account.

I dont know what you mean by access locally, sorry.  Hope you can rephrase.

    Thanks!

Hey Lil7 - thanks for the additional information there.

Do you happen to have another Dropbox account, associated with a different email address of yours perhaps?

Also, can you clarify if you're using the Dropbox desktop app as well or if you're just using a web browser to access your Dropbox files?

Is the email address you see in your account's settings an exact match with the one you see in the Dropbox mobile app on your iOS device?

Since you're not seeing your missing files in the deleted files page and the events page, it's likely that you're looking at the wrong account or that the files were never uploaded to Dropbox in the first place. In any case, please keep us posted with your findings.

Hi, apologies for the delayed response.

I don't have another dropbox account.

i'm using web browser on the laptop, although when i was prompted to download the app, i started, but was informed i already had the app.

email address is an exact match.

files were definitely uploaded to dropbox, over the last 7-8 years.

    help, please!

Hi from me as well, Lil7.

Can you double-check the email addresses on both devices, to see if perhaps one is a Gmail and the other a Googlemail one, for example? These would be two different emails for Dropbox.

Or perhaps the first part of the email has some kind of special character or a period in it that would differentiate the email addresses?

Also, can you confirm if you see anything in the pages Walter hyperlinked in his reply above?
