Cannot Move Certain Files Between Folders on Same Account

My organization uses Dropbox for organizing and categorizing our photos. We import the photos into our Media Inbox folder, then I tag them and sort them into their appropriate subfolders. Occasionally there will be certain photos that just can't be moved to the subfolder once they've been tagged, but I can't figure out why. It never gives me a reason, and all of the folders are team folders. The files are usually JPG, JPEG, or HEIC. And the weird thing is, I'm able to move it to other folders, but not the one that it needs to go in. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on? Thanks!

Hey HAFPTEAM - sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Can you please clarify if you're getting any specific error when trying to move those files and if you're a team member or a team admin on the account?

    Thanks!

Hi Walter, thanks for getting back to me!

I'm not getting any specific error, it'll just usually give me a box at the bottom of the screen that says "couldn't move file to X Folder". Although when I tried it just now, I didn't even have the option to move files to the correct folder. When I went through the process, the Move button is greyed out (screenshot attached). I'm able to move the file to other folders, but not the one I want. Not sure if that's helpful. Also, I believe I'm just a team member on this account. Thanks!

Can you move other files in general into that specific folder HAFPTEAM

Have you tried renaming the file before attempting the move by any chance?

Yes to both, I just tried moving another file to the same folder and it worked. I've had this same problem with several files, and I did rename the files before attempting to move them. Are there any rules about naming files that could interfere with the move? I've had the problem with files I didn't rename as well, so I always assumed that wasn't the problem.

As long as you're utilizing these guidelines you shouldn't bump into any issue HAFPTEAM

Could you check if your file names contain any special characters perhaps?
