File keeps being moved into the parent folder instead of the subfolder on the website
When moving an online file from one directory to another directories sub-directory, often times (not always) the file will end up in the root dir and not the sub-directory that was selected.
Example: Move file /examples/myfile.txt to /new-example-folder/text-files/myfile.txt often times "myfile.txt" will end up at /new-example-folder/myfile.txt and not the sub-folder "text-files". No Error message is ever given so I don't believe an error is triggered.
I have provided screenshots to demonstrate this issue, they can be viewed here, removed
Hoping that the Dropbox Support team will see this an fix the issue or someone could share a work-around to the issue. We depend on the organizing of our data critically and this issue has definitely slowed us down on many occassion.

Hey BUser2024, let's jump right into this!
I'm guessing you're using the desktop app in order to achieve this move, right?
Keep in mind that I removed your shared link, in order to avoid it from receiving a lot of traffic.
Would you mind clarifying your device's OS, and when did this start happening?
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Hi Megan,
We are not using the Desktop app, this is happening while using the web browser. We use PC's with Chrome as the browser. Sorry about the pictures, I have added them back using the picture tool on the toolbar... if you don't want them on the thread at all that's fine, you can delete them. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Thanks for your help!

Hey, BUser2024! Hope you’re doing well and thanks for the screenshots.
From the last screenshot, I understand you’re trying to move your PDF file into the “Import-into-GoodNotes” directory/folder, correct? However, from your first screenshot, it looks like the file has been moved inside a folder named “Admin”, which is located within “_Site Visits”. Feel free to correct me, if I’m wrong though.
If you try and move this file to another folder instead, are you experiencing the same behavior?

Hi Nancy, thank you for your response. Sorry for the confusion, I have added step numbers to the images in order to put them in the correct order.
What we are doing is starting in the sub-directory /__Site Visits/Admin and attempting to move a file in that directory to /__Site Visits/Import-into-Goodnotes and "Sometimes," not all the time, the file ends up at the root of /__Site Visits instead of the selected folder "Import-into-Goodnotes"
Hope that clarifies the issue.

Hi BUser2024, thank you for clarifying!
Do you notice this behavior with random files, and folders or when you try to move content to this specific path?
Also, I'd like for you to maybe check with a different browser, and see if the same thing happens there. It'd help us narrow it down, and check if this is a browser-specific cause behind it.

Megan,
Since this doesn't happen every time we move a file we had to take a few days to test the Edge browser. So far we have not been able to trigger the issue in Edge.
To clarify, it will happen to a random file we are attempting to move. but it always puts the file into the root and not the sub dir __Site Visits instead of __Site Visits/Import-into-Goodnotes when the issue occurs.
We will continue to test in Edge.
