Find out who owns a folder

Due to a mix up I have two folders named exactly the same on dropbox.

One folder I created/orginated, own and share with a group of people.
Another that another user created/originaled, owns and shares with the same group of people..

The are both there in my file tree (I work online rather than on my desktop) and I can't tell which is "mine" and which is theirs.

Ideally I would like to just delete mine and keep the other one. Thus making only one version of this folder shared with everyone.

How do I identify the owner  of the folders?
If I delete my version will it disappear for all the other people who share/edit that folder automatically?
(If not then I could just rename it to "DELETE ME" and then everyone would know.)

Any help would be most appreciated.

  • Hey dfod, thanks for using Dropbox and welcome to the Community!

You can determine the owner of a shared folder by following these steps, but you should also be able to tell which folder is a shared folder and which one isn't by their icons on our website.

    I hope this helps!
