I can't use Shift + delete for my folders due to new "delete for everyone" pop-up message.
I am unable to shift+delete any folder inside my dropbox folder so I can skip the recycling bin. This seems to be connected to this new popup about asking if I'm sure I want to delete for everyone. Which is very strange, because this is NOT in a folder I've shared with anyone else.
Any ideas on how to fix this? Or how I can report this to Dropbox directly?
full uninstall and reinstall fixed it. Thank you!

Well, unfortunately, the problem is now back. Was there an update in the last 2 months? Will I need to uninstall and reinstall it every time to fix this?

Hey MultiKoopa, if you just reinstall the Dropbox app, does the delete option still not work?

Hi MultiKoopa, one more thing, please.
Would you mind clarifying the version of the Dropbox app that you're using along with your OS? I just want to make sure you're not using a beta version, that could be causing that behavior. - MultiKoopa2 years agoHelpful | Level 7
Hannah ok I did this.
Now after resetting the file system warnings... This happens the first time I just press delete:
Shift-Delete now shows the this popup:
but... pressing "Yes" doesn't actually do anything; doesn't delete it.
Shift+Delete again shows this:
and pressing Yes still does nothing.

Can you try the following and let me know if it works?
- Open your Dropbox preferences
- Go to the Account tab
- Hold Alt+H on your keyboard and you should see an option for file system warnings
- Check or enable the option

I don't know how to make it appear again once I checked the box to never show it again. Can you explain that to me?

Hey MultiKoopa, if you come across the pop-up again, please send us a screenshot.
Just make sure to either attach it to your reply from the camera button, or send us a Dropbox link to the screenshot, otherwise we won't be able to access it.
